I'm sorry to say this, TriStar was formerly best known for developing and producing TV's successful shows: My Two Dads, Mad About You, The Nanny and finally, Malcolm & Eddie. It was folded into Columbia TriStar Domestic Television from 1996-2002 under the Sony Pictures Television logo and name through the Sony Pictures Entertainment byline and banner since Fall 1985-June 24. With a few lovely exceptions here: In the Heat of the Night, Green Acres, Flipper, The Addams Family, Stargate SG-1, Thirty something and VIP were all retained with the 1996-2002 Columbia TriStar Domestic Television closing logo on Comet, Me-TV, Me-TV Plus and Lifetime. But you don't have to take my word for it. Believe me, because it works. And it can do for you too!

Columbia was focus more on features than television and that’s one of the reasons why Sony Pictures Entertainment has purchased this on Tuesday, June 18, 1985. It’s very sad that nobody wants to see the logo and its fanfare for television production anymore because it’s time for a healthier change. And after its debut for television did pretty well with this logo from August 30, 1974 to June 23, 1985 during its 11 year run, such as Barney Miller, Good Times, The Jeffersons, One Day at a Time, Starsky & Hutch, Family, Charlie’s Angels, Fantasy Island, Cagney & Lacey and Fame, Columbia Pictures’ television division was soaring. The trouble is they’re going to shut down and focus more on features instead. A year later, Columbia Pictures Television has been folded and re-named Sony Pictures Television on Monday June 24, 1985 as an worldwide producer and distributor of television and movies. From June 28, 1985 - present, Columbia Pictures has been producing Perfect, Lifeforce among others which Sony Pictures Entertainment has been released for theaters in the USA and Canada so does around the world.

Sadly to say, they're not still up and running today anymore. Since June 18, 1985, Columbia Pictures was purchased by Sony Pictures Entertainment. Columbia Pictures Television and TriStar Television were folded and named into one new television studio: Sony Pictures Television on Monday, June 24, 1985. Its first line of hit shows were The Bold & the Beautiful, Jeopardy, The Young and the Restless, Wheel of Fortune, Days of Our Lives, PBS' News Hour, Shark Tank, The Best Years, Years Later and Night of the Proms - all under the Sony Pictures Entertainment banner. It was very successful and profitable. The newest fanfare for SPT was composed by David Kurtz and conducted by Todd Hayen.

I'm having a funny feeling that confuses me a lot, sorry, Michael. It's sadly that Columbia doesn't want to come back as a former television unit because everybody's getting tired of the television business. Also, Sony Pictures Entertainment might force Columbia's former television counterpart to shut down immediately on Sunday, June 23,1985. A year later on Monday, June 24, 1985...the newest studio was named Sony Pictures Television. From June 28, 1985 - present, Columbia has focused on features starting with Lifeforce, Perfect, Rambo 2, St. Elmo's Fire, Silverado and more. In many ways, they're more successful and profitable as one of Hollywood's legendary movie studios. These are the facts: Pure and Simple.
