dimitrios007 yea but also I forgot to mention that the mic quality might not last because I watched some "is it worth it?" vids and some said that mic quality might not be good as they thought it would be, so I guess they are convincing, I'd recommend these or the Astro A50

Vault Boy DSO thanks. the mic isnot important for me. for me the sound in games is important since i play mostly offline single player games. sometimes i play multiplayer with a shooter or a race with cars but i dont chat so its ok. the astro a50 is good but also double the price of the platinums in the netherlands so for me its not worth it. i feel the platinums are hands down the best price quality headset around these days. i have seen alot of youtube reviews and reviews from websites and the majority of those people are actually very excited about the platinums and are saying the same thing. so a very good sign. gonne buy these the next comming two weeks :p

I really don't think its worth the upgrade if you own Golds already but if its your first set of nice headphones go with the new platinum just because it seems to be a bit more durable!!!!

Yeah, these two headsets lack a lot of quality and durability. The sound is really good but it's too fragile. The gold I bought first started to get broken above and near the ears, the sound still works but it's totally ripped apart. I have to say I'm really pissed, and oh by the way, it started to get broke apart about only a few months after I bought it. The Platinum one is a bit more solid but the two folds are broken only one year after I've bought it... Sony, you should refund people or at least in the spirit of fair trading, get us a voucher, the platinum costs two times the price of the gold one... How can Sony sell some weak stuff at such an expensive price ? And one last thing (as it wasn't enough :'( ), I can't charge the battery anymore on the platinum headset, it seems that the charging socket is dead :'(. Thanks Sony. (PS : Many people had the same problems with the Gold headset, and I bet that there are many who have issues with the Platinum too)

@Dustin Hawk I've had my gold's for couple years, no problems. I just upgraded to plats and can't really recommend unless you NEED to upgrade. Don't buy them unless yours break or you need new ones.

I had my gold headset for 3 and a half years. For the first two and a half years nothing at all was wrong with it. After that it started tearing on the ear pads then the headband, the battery lasts more than hour shorter than it used to and the speakers make crackling noises when there should be no sound. I still think it was worth buying it.

I cant believe how uncomfortable the platinum headset is. Iv had to put a foam head band on the rubber head strap. This fixed the comfort issue . My sons £29 turtle beach recon 70s fit like an old slipper in comparison.

Worth. Every. Penny. If you have a PS4 or PS4 Pro these are an absolute must have. They look and sound fantastic and they're built really solid. It's so awesome to be playing very late and not make any noise while to you it sounds like you're right in the center of whatever you're playing. Highly, highly recommend.

Nick Capaccio I've had my PS Gold for about 2 years now and it is in great condition. Just one word of advice; don't leave your headset near hot things. The only thing that's happened to my headset is that a small portion of the leather on the edge of the ear cup was peeling off (the part where the earcup and the button controls seperate). I realized that the cause of this was that I left the headphones on top of my PS4 while I played, and I guess the heat caused some of the adhesive to melt away. After that, I never put my headset on top of my PS4 and the leather hasn't peeled off anymore than what was already peeled and you can barely notice the peeled section.

I got the gold headset day one and my ear pads are peeling on the left side big time right side is fine for some reason. I got the platinum headset things awesome but worried this will happen to those as well. I figure the golds are still good for a back up pair having the pads peeled a bit does not bother me that much.

No Name I've had my gold's for 2yrs and the leather has never torn. idk what you're doing since I hardly even treat my with care (throwing them, packing them in laugage, even sitting on them once). the only issue I came across was the hinge but it was easily fixed with duck tape and super glue.

Avoid the gold headset, i got it during release, lasted 3 months and i'm very gently with products, almost never folded it and never stretched it, i took it off my average size head (said average size because i can understand this happening to people with wide heads) and it broke. The sounds is fantastic, mic is very good (could be slightly better) but the hinges are terrible and for some reason my lost all battery permanently (woke up one day and it wouldn't charge nor would bluetooth turn on).

The Best Gaming I don't know, maybe i'm just unlucky. I was very careful with them and never had this problem with other foldable headsets, but then again the hinges weren't made of a weak plastic. Good job getting three years out of it though, i saw amazon reviews saying the bluetooth stopped working after 6 months but still took the risk (probably faulty charging ports, it can happen to almost all electronics).

Both the gold and platinum are junk. The pulse headset for ps3 was a million times better. The platinum sounds like the audio is a being played through a pop can. I use my pulse headset with a headphone amp. It is the best.
