Eric, for future reference. Regardless of whether you say “no offense” or not, negatively commenting on someone’s work can be offensive. It’s not really up to you whether it’s offensive or not. In general, unless you know the person well enough to know for sure that they would want it or have been asked specifically for your honest feedback, it’s probably better just to keep that kind of comment to yourself.

alright Dunna, he is my dilemma. I am getting into real estate, and I need to get a wide-angle Lense that isn't my 18-55 kit lens. I am looking at the Tamron 11-20mm 2.8 but with these three lenses just getting announced idk which one is better. I shoot on a Sony a6400 so any of these would be good. I want a wide angle (obviously). for stills I would mainly shoot at f8 to get the entire scene in focus, but I also want to video real estate as well so the f4 on the 10-20 isn't ideal because I don't want to crank the ISO on my a6400 past 1000. the 11mm 1.8 sounds intriguing and is a great prize but having the versatility to zoom would be nice. With clear image zoom on a full frame camera you don't even have to zoom in 50% like the camera does in APSC mode
@dunnadidit2 жыл бұрын
I actually tried that. There are two issues. 1, every lens is different and even the 10-20 changes depending on where you are in the range. And the second one is that you lose a lot of autofocus capability in clear image zoom mode. Not saying that it’s not an option… just an option with some trade offs.

The 11mm is pretty exciting at the price. The other two, for me as someone who doesn't care about capturing video, are pretty "meh". 10-20mm is incredibly niche zoom range and at only f4 max is worse than just getting two prime lenses - especially at the price its being pitched at. The 15mm f1.4 is just too expensive when you have the 16mm f1.4 from sigma at less than half the price. All of the advantages (quieter/faster autofocus and OSS) only really relevant if you are recording video. The 11mm though is tempting me to sell my Laowa 9mm f2.8.

this is my humble request to all content creators using latest sony mirrorless cameras to disable the EYE PRIORITY in autofocus feature of their cameras at least in video mode. the EYE DETECT feature undoubtedly gives perception of better looking video but because sony's EYE AUTOFOCUS is so powerful and that coupled with modern lenses at wider aperture results in a video that has a very small portion of the screen that is highly in focus. this obviously looks impressive f0r stlls but when it comes t0 vide0, and especially when the subject is m0vng, it bec0mes strainful on eyes of the viewer to watch.

APS-C by default is a lower price bracket and that's not what they're going for.
