This is the moment when the lens focus engine breaks down. In middle of a long continuous take something goes snap and the lens would not focus anymore.
Sony repair centre reported the lens unrepairable. The lens had not taken any hits or known damage, but the motor was in shambles.
Exactly 2 weeks after the warranty period ended.
Oh well.
Unfortunately there is no similar power zoom lenses available within same/close price range, so let's see how long the next SELP18200 works.
