Probably did it for the same reason that Budokai Tenkaichi 3 (2007) and God of War 2 (2007) came out on ps2. The user base was still much larger on ps2 and it was way easier to release a game on a platform that you know the "ins" and "outs" of. It really wasn't until like 2009 with the ps3 slim and marketing switch up that people really started to jump onto the ps3.

@@MegaDrain Also have to consider that Persona 4 has the same level of visuals as Persona 3, so there were most likely concerns that the game wouldn't look "next gen" enough to market as a PS3 title anyway. Making the leap to 7th gen consoles was a huge commitment, and Atlus likely couldn't afford it since they decided to pretty much exclusively stick to handhelds during this time.

In reality Nishino replaces Totoki who replaces Yoshida. Because Nishino and Hulst did not have a completely free hand, they had to report to Totoki who was the Chairman of SIE. So now Hulst instead of reporting to Totoki, he reports to Nishino

Wrong Totoki was CEO of SIE for a few months. Hulst and Nishino replaced him as co-CEOs and Totoki was already back in Japan at that time. Totoki was only there to get a direct look at the damage done and see how he could change SIE division when he got back to Japan. I suspect Totoki was already getting his name plates made for Sony CEO before he left to be a temporary CEO at SIE. As for Nishino and Hulst, those two were never under him directly in the way you say. BTW, Hulst is essentially fired. The situation is no different than how Ryan was fired. Ryan was never leaving SIE of his accord to spend time with family. I can't believe so many people fell for that excuse. Meanwhile, Sony can't use another family excuse for Hulst but not mistake Hulst has a similar fade out into the sunset deal. Like Ryan, Hulst is being kept around as to not cause too much damage to Sony's stock value. Hulst will walk away in several months (after the fiscal year) to find new challenges. To seek new challenges is another of the top 3 excuses used for people forced out. The fact is Hulst is responsible as much as Ryan was for the situation SIE is in with the studios and content. He was behind GAAS too. Remember Hulst is the one fully gung-ho beyond Concord, calling it the future of Play Station and saying it was a move for Sony to be as big as Star Wars with plans for movies and tv shows, comics, other additional additional media moves outside gaming for the Concord IP. They aren't putting Hulst truly back in charge of studios. It is just a fake figurehead, no real power, just as was Ryan during the last months he remained CEO of SIE.

Now Hulst is under the control of Nishino who is under the control of Totoki. And for Ryan's story you have no proof. Unlike the official version which is supported by several interviews with Jim Ryan from 2022 and 2023 where he explains that having to work in 3 time zones and far from his family was quite tiring.

My Internet went down during the freak snow storm in FL a week ago. I figured I'd use that opportunity to catch up on some single player games, that I bought for full price. I fired up Ragnarok, played a few minutes, and got a notification saying the game was about to be shut down because it couldn't connect to the Internet and verify my license. Same thing happened for Stellar Blade, TLOU PART 1, and 2. I was fckn pissed off. I couldn't even play single player games I've owned for a long time, because my Internet went out. I'm gonna keep it real with you chief. The PS4 is my last Sony console. I'm not buying anymore of their stuff. Since I moved to PC 5 years ago, I've had an amazing experience and met a ton of new people. And the games are always half the price of Sony. Plus, I can play any game I want, regardless of platform. I'll continue to collect for the PS4, by buying up all the super rare and hard to find CEs for dirt, but once the plug is pulled, I'm out. It's a real shame man. They just can't get things right anymore.

Nobody cares what Sony says. PS4 still has enormous player base. No major publisher (except Sony itself) will abandon it. The fact that Capcom still releases all new Resident Evil games on PS4 and they are ran pretty well still amazes me. But the biggest things that will carry PS4 for many years in the future is Fortnite and Genshin. As long as this games still supports PS4 - console won't die.

Let's be real, PS4 is still going to have a massive player base well into the PS6 years. They will have supported it through the majority of the PS5's life. 5 was the first one to be an upgrade like a smart phone is these days.. Great if you upgrade, but previous models aren't obselete instantly like older times.

Wow. The fact that _TLoU Part II_ and _HZD_ have "remastered" versions at all still speaks volumes about how little Sony have to offer in terms of games this generation. They keep having to repackage the old ones. When the PS5 launched with the genuinely excellent remake of _Demon's Souls_ by Bluepoint I had no idea it was actually setting the tone for the entire generation, which is coasting by on past glories and keeping profit up by raising subs prices, never discounting the hardware and so on. It's kinda mind blowing actually, and not in a good way. The benefit is it makes the PS4 library look even stronger by comparison. Honestly I've gotten more enjoyable use out of my jailbroken PS4 Pro than any PS5 I've owned.

As a business analyst, reviewing earnings statements, the only thing that makes sense is they got greedy and main goal is extracting as much money from the base as possible with minimal effort. I've got just over double those hours lol but arguably there wouldn't be much to improve upon on PC compared to the PS5 Pro version I use now anyways. Also if you're struggling for cash in the game then just Google some money grinds, I've been using one lately just to buy the last few remaining 20mil cars, i earn 825k per race which takes around 25min so easy i can almost do it with my eyes closed.

@@ddeevviinndduussttrryy nahh I've tested 120 vs 60 and can bearly tell the difference honestly, I even tested using the same car on the same track playing solo in a time trial to test if it _actually_ improved my lap times running in 120fps but it didn't 🤷‍♂️ anything over 60 is a gimmick to me. The resolution is already high and looks pretty crisp too on Playstation plus just recently added ray tracing on track too. Unless they dramatically overhaul it using path tracing on PC then it won't receive any meaningful upgrades over PS5 Pro honestly. Playstation Plus is a positive not a negative, even on its base tier its saved me money with its free monthly games included in the service. In the rare case of not playing many games and/or not playing online games with friends that would be the only case where not paying for base PS+ tier would make any sense honestly.
