nice to see someone posting one of the most difficult laptops to open. besides that, i have some advices: never use metal to open covers or flat cables locks. Use some plastic tool, you can use a cover of a pen or a bank card if you don´t have it. Be gentle when doing it, never pull parts with cables already connected. Thanks for posting! Legal de ver alguem abrindo um dos notebooks mais dificeis de abrir. Apesar disso eu tenho alguns conselhos: nunca use um instrumento de metal para abrir tampas ou travas dos cabos flats. Use uma ferramenta plastica, voce pode usar uma tampa de caneta ou cartao de banco se vc nao tiver uma. Seja gentil enquanto estiver fazendo isso, nunca puxe partes com cabos ainda conectados. Thanks I was able to change the thermal paste on my vaio and saw a 20°C drop on the cpu temps

Was yours dried up? Mine is hitting 95 C under heavy loads unless I have a fan aimed at the bottom intake. After watching this video I'm wondering if its even worth trying to save this laptop. I got mine in 2012... It would be one thing if the CPU fan was easily accessible, but it appears there is a ton to take off before you can reach it.

@@biggsk94 It still reaches 95 on full load. What I was talking about were the idle temps. Although even at full loads the chassis feels much more 'lap friendly' now. The paste was dried up. I ripped apart the whole thing, including the fans which open up and cleaned everything thoroughly. Now the fan noise issue has also lessened.

@@RajusNagwekar It gets to like 85-90 just while on KZbin lol. I'm not sure I find it worth it tearing it completely apart. I mean, mine is from 2012, so it's pretty old to begin with.
