Hey guys, just a little personal update on why I haven't uploaded so much this year - feel free to skip reading this and instead just let me know below what you'd like me to review next 👇🏻🔥 To be honest, I've struggled a little this year to balance what's going on in my life and maintaining all the things I love doing - including this channel, and for that, I apologise! Earlier this year, Becky (my girlfriend) tested positive for the BRCA2 gene mutation which has meant I needed to be there for her through a lot of scary decisions nobody should ever have to make. But so far, we seem to be making sense of it all and are working towards accepting life being a little different to what we expected. Last week I also lost my uncle in Malaysia to COVID, which has been tough when we live so far away here in the UK. All in all, 2021 has a 0/10 for me, but I've always found creating these videos very chill and it helps to take my mind of things for many, many hours. So thank you guys for always watching and giving me motivation to keep going, because it helps more than you guys probably realise. I may not be back to uploading weekly but I'm gonna try every 1 and a half weeks or every 2 weeks or so for now. Thanks also to everyone who noticed I had suddenly disappeared! I'll try and keep you guys updated in future. Cheers as always and hope you're all safe and healthy. Mark

Squeezing the foam tips before putting them on is expected and the correct way when it comes to foam tips. They conform to exactly your ear canal shape when expanding, giving you that amazing sound isolation. It's a little bit more work to put on but you get great isolation in return, it's preference.

I have WH and WF XM4 and I prefer using earbuds because they play almost the same as headphones (after using EQ). Also have them in this bright color and they do get scratched. I use them at work, so I had to order silicon case for earbuds case. I use full noise cancelation all the time and no speak to chat option or google assistant and with LDAC codec I got around 4 and a half hours battery life so I changed to AAC codec and it last me at work for around 8 hours easy.

How does the ANC compare on both?
@RoMusic20112 жыл бұрын
@@terminator2348 WF have better ANC because they are tight in ear canal. Meanwhile WH are over ear so they dont seal so much. But because of that WF are less comfortable. After watching around 50 KZbin videos on various true wireless ANC earphones, I finally bit the bullet and got the XM4. The sound quality and ANC definitely worth the price but the comfort is not there. It’s not to the point that it causes pain, but it’s definitely “there”. I am thinking if I should get a pair of third party ear tips so that it may fit my ear better and hopefully it will feel better with that.

I'm not sure what to think. for reference I'm coming from westone UM2 wired buds with custom tips. the frequency response of the sonys is drastically different to these. miles more 2-5k, and less 200-300hz, making them comparatively shrill next to the westones. with EQ (neutron player) they are not bad. as for the ANC - there is absolutely NO effect when this is turned on. I mean none. I can only assume that I just have a faulty pair? there's talk on reddit about it going wrong after a certain firmware update.

They have the potential for HiRes audio. But you have to do it yourself to exploit this potential. For completely "normal" use, however, there is not much point in operating these headphones in "HiRes/LDAC" mode. These headphones are simply too quiet in the important frequency ranges to really make a difference. Don't get me wrong. The Sony WF-1000XM4 are damn good headphones. However, if you really have an audiophile trained ear and also own sources with high resolution, or at least CD quality audio, you will never be able to experience the full potential of these headphones without a parametric EQ. Yes, the equaliser in the Sony app can straighten out the worst. But you will never get a precise linear reproduction. They sound very muffled by default and don't offer much in the higher mids and airy range. The bass range is also quite dominant at +6dB. PreAmp with activated limiter (because otherwise these headphones lose too much of their final level): -4.8dB Filter 1: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 42Hz, Q= 0.33, Gain= -5.9dB Filter 2: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 480Hz, Q= 2.00, Gain= -1.5dB Filter 3: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 742Hz, Q= 2.00, Gain= -0.5dB Filter 4: Highshelf, Freq.= 1000Hz, Q= 0.707, Gain= +3.6dB Filter 5: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 2424Hz, Q= 7.00, Gain= -2.1dB Filter 6: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 3010Hz, Q= 5.00, Gain= -1.1dB Filter 7: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 6101Hz, Q= 5.00, Gain= +1.5dB Filter 8: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 6940Hz, Q= 10.00, Gain= +1.9dB Filter 9: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 8000Hz, Q= 10.00, Gain= -1.2dB Filter 10: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 8130Hz, Q= 10.00, Gain= -1.4dB Filter 11: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 9530Hz, Q= 5.00, Gain= +2.1dB Filter 12: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 10556Hz, Q= 5.00, Gain= +2.9dB Filter 13: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 12000Hz, Q= 10.00, Gain= +7.3dB Filter 14: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 12910Hz, Q= 10.00, Gain= +4.9dB Filter 15: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 14180Hz, Q= 10.00, Gain= -3.8dB Filter 16: Bell/Peaking, Freq.= 16690Hz, Q= 10.00, Gain= -4.0dB FIlter 17: Highshelf, Freq.= 17000Hz, Q=0.707, Gain= -9.6dB This correction is based on measurement data from crinacle and a linear InEar Target Curve. My experience is that many details that were lost before are suddenly present and the stage is much bigger and more defined. Just like the separation. Since LDAC is mainly only supported by Android anyway, I can recommend the Poweramp Equalizer from the PlayStore the most. I don't know if the SoC in the headphones is powerful enough to process such a lot of filters directly in the headphones. But if Sony offered it with a firmware update and then offered it via app as a Natural Linear Profile or something, these headphones would really have what it takes to be the best TWS in the world.

For me at least it isn‘t bothersome and i really like the rest of the headphone. You have to change the eq settings a bit as they are REALLY boomy with stock setting. With Clearbass -1 400: -2 1k: 0 2.5k: +4 6.3k: 0 16k: -4 They sound better than my dt 990 edition with a good amp. Solid headphones if they fit you properly. No regrets even for 280 dollars.

I had the Jabra 75T Elite and these are way better. I use them when fishing because some people hate their lives so much they like to yell random noises at me as they fly down the road to try and trigger my PTSD. The first day I wore them out at the pond I played a song and didn’t know the beginning of the song had some background talking that I never heard before through any other headphones. Needless to say I almost jumped out of my skin as I thought there was someone behind me. The foam tips are perfectly fine if you’ve ever used ear plugs while shooting or if you wear them because you’re tired of listening to people’s BS. It takes a fraction of a second to squeeze the tips with 3 fingers and jam them in your ear. If you’re a pencil pusher you are not going to appreciate the secure fit.

This review burst my bubble.They need to work more on the form factor (a big thing for me) and improve the IP rating. These are still too bulky and stick out too much. This factor is why I am drawn to the Jabra Elite 7s which have a far more discreet, shallow profile, however, its reviews are mixed (which is why I am here). Good review, very detailed and clearly articulated.

Tbh, the expensive, great sound quality buds are big. I have had 2 pairs of Jabras. Not sticking out is very impt to me... but I guess it is a sacrifice right? I thought this biege pair would be good

I think they are too big. My ear size is avg and I like my buds to sit further in.

What really dissapoint me on this new wf xm4 is the case, for that price i expected more. The buds are awesome by the way, look big on all the review but it fit my ear very well, my friend even said it look comfortable. But be warn, not ear is suitable for this earbud, you might want to test this first if your friend have one.

Yeah they're not for every ear type, might not fit most girls since they generally have smaller facial features like ears. I also would've preferred smaller case, even if it only offered 1 extra full charge instead of 2+, but I guess they were trying to go for that 24h total hours standard that all premium brands have, which is kind of a shame.

Nope, for sound q xm4 is beyond tw1 from senheiser.and from technics az60 too.

I might have to try these as I need 8 hours with ANC on and for them to be comfortable to sleep in?

this vs the xm4 headphones in terms of ANC?

So are they only good for android devices, im looking for wireless earbuds for work and Im really not impressed with the airpod pros. They aren’t terrible but for the price it seems most of the price comes from iOS compatibility and not actual build quality and audio.
@heikg3 жыл бұрын
They work with every os, but i'm not sure if there is an app for every os. You only need the app in case you want to change the default earbuds settings, like controls, anc, equalizer etc. For windows keep in mind that whatever buds you connect you're gonna have a noticeable lag if you play games, as windows really sucks.

Hey mrk what about the soundcore life q35. They are packing even more stuff that the Sony xm4's offer for very low price. We're talkin' $130 vs $350 on xm4's.

These are amazing for an earbud. I pair them with my tablet for some Netflix while trying to be quiet late at night.

New subscriber here. I don’t see a review for the Bowers & Wilkins Pi7. I’m thinking of upgrading to them from the Sein Mom TW2. The B&W are quite pricey ($400) but have many features the other doesn’t. I have the PX7’s and they are godlike IMO. Too big for active on the go obviously.

I got mine today. They are sold out EVERYWHERE!!! Unfortunately, the only pair I could find were the grey and I want the black! Hopefully the black comes in stock soon so I can switch them out. Lastly, I’m praying they are stable on iOS as the last generation wasn’t stable and I had to return them.

They perform okay on iOS. Not as well as the AirPod pros but the superior sound quality and noise cancelling is worth it to me. Not to mention how good they look and the black ones are semi discrete. Call quality is disappointing, but I really do love these for the sound quality.
