Thanks for walk through. 3 points that may be helpful. 1) Removing the screws requires a #00 Phillips head screwdriver. I suggest you resist the urge to use a tiny flat blade screwdriver because that or a larger Phillips head can easily tear up the slots in the screws. 2) The interior of the earpiece might be slightly different than the video but all the important pieces are in the same position. 3) A tweezers will be quite useful in replacing the ribbon connector and putting the screws in place. (My fingers are just too bulky to do this easily.)

Thanks for the video. I had the issue where, instead of charging and having a solid red light, the red light would flash continuously. After disassembling, I found the light could stay on solid if I wiggled the temperature sensor (the part held down by the first tape - the orange tab touching the battery). This is true even with the battery unplugged. Tracing the sensor cable back to the board, it was apparent one of the solder joints was only making intermittent contact. A little more wiggling and it came off entirely. I resoldered the sensor onto the board and now it charges perfectly. Also it looked like the wiring had been factory reworked (poorly), so seems like Sony has some quality control issues. Very disappointing.

Ugh, unfortunately the new battery didn't fix the problem, when I plug up the charger the charging light turns red for about 3 to 4 minutes then just goes off. Power wont turn on. When i press the power button occasionally it will give a very quick blue flash that you can barely see cause it happens so quick. When I place the headphones against my phone to connect by NFC the headphones vibrate each time but the power never turns on to connect to Bluetooth. Been using my Taotronics BH046 as my backup headphones for about a week now since I've had them over a year and never used them.

Nevermind, I decided to open up the other side of the headphones to see if there was a problem and I found it. I detached one of the circuit lines and pushed it back in place but no results. Then I placed it in about 75% of the way and voila, my headphones powered on. It must be a defect in mine because that panel isn't lining up with the connection perfectly for some reason so I have to leave it partially out, but it's working so. I may try and find a new circuit line once I figure out what it's called and purchase one to see if it's just a bad line or an actual defect.

@@medborgargarden9858 I need to find out what that circuit strip item number is so I can order it to see if it's just the strip or if the actual connection has gone bad.

I think too powerful chargers can cause this fault. I have a workaround for this, use normal charger and press quickly both buttons if the red light disappears. repeat until it stays on (can take a few attempts)

@2:16, I'm guessing that is a thermocouple. As far as the tape holding the thermocouple on to the battery, I wonder how sticky it will be after being peeled off a few batteries...

I replaced my battery on my XM3s, but I am still having issues with the headset not holding a charge/not charging. I've noticed that the top of the back on the LEFT headphone is pretty warm/hot while it "charges," which doesn't make sense to me since the battery is on the back of the right ear. Any suggestions for what the issue/fix might be? Thanks!

My XM3's seem to be charging but won't turn on. Sometimes I've managed to get them to turn on by doing the "hold both buttons while charging" reset but recently they just don't turn on at all. Yesterday I took them apart for the first time and when I took apart first the right and then the left headphone they magically turned on and worked flawlessly for several hours. I could turn them on and off, everything seemed to be working. Then I turned them off and the next day they were back to not working. I thought it was the battery but I'm not sure, since they turned on by themselves when I had the left earcup opened.

I have experienced something similar, it wont turn on with any button, only with NFC, I found on reddit (Fixed WH-1000XM3 power button not turning it on (faint blue light)) that some cables where not well isolated, so I followed this tutorial to open the headset and put a piece of tape between those cables and now is working again. Hope it helps

My battery wouldn't charge, and the charge light wouldn't illuminate when the charging cable was connected. Thanks for the video! Disconnecting & reconnecting the battery didn't work, so I replaced it, and problem solved.

Before I did manipulation with the unplugging the battery, by pressing the power button there was blue light. But now - there is no light at all… Literally they felt from like 20cm hight, 1 time and do not work any more There was no problems with battery life or so… Little chance that I will get response from you, but - What would you recommend?

No, it stayed the same.. trying to turn it on - blue light flash but for a sec and nothing happens. Sometimes nothing at all happens, sometimes there is a red light

@@unnd3r Maybe the other earpad is shorting on the cables, sometimes happen. Try to hit the headphones a little, or use isolating tape to prevent shorts.

Anyone know how important/what that cable is at 2:20? When pulling mine off I lost a bit of the sticker and I'm afraid that when reapplying it to a new battery it might come lose. if it's important and it comes lose, any ideas on what I can do to make it stick?

Maybe a temperature probe, but it's just a guess, could also be an antenna

Un plugging it and plugging it back in fixed my issue for about 20minutes. Despite my headphones saying they were at full capacity, they just silently turned off and won’t turn back on. Wondering if maybe there’s a cabling issue

I have the exact same problem 😢
@lucaraccampo12524 жыл бұрын
If you were not be able to fix the issue, especially in case of red charging blinking light, make sure you have checked the NTC thermistor (it's the little piece of foam that stands over the battery) connections to the board. After I've soldered one of the two contact of the NTC that was loose, the problem was solved. I've even found out that my original battery was good.

Athar Rasheed it stands over the battery. Try to push the contacts while charging to see if that’s the problem
