For those kegels, don't forget the reverse kegel exercises when you do them. It is the reverse kegel that unlocks perfect control. And relaxes the tightness and extra strength you get from the regular kegel. The regular kegel gets you stronger bloodflow and greater force when release. I have the 85-inch x95l, and I love it. The Revenant scene is one of the first things I demo, and it's incredible. I can't see any blooming, and it's so good that the scene looks much better than my 83-inch G2 and 55-inch a90j. This is across the board for me. It's extremely rare when you see any light come in the light bars(as in maybe one show I saw on HBO) and the pop is incredible. It's me favorite TV I've ever experienced and I work in the industry. Note I have the 85-inch, so it's possible it has less blooming, but it's not noticeable. Nothing like is shown, but the camera is overexposed, so even the 65 won't look like that. Amazing TV for those considering.

@guiltynessness8926 Жыл бұрын
@aquaneon8012 Yeah. I was skeptical as well. While I think there are some mini leds that are better value, this is the first time I thought a mini led TV look better overall. However, during a blind watching TV test at MWave, the qm8 was the people's popular choice. Even when there was an G3 there. I'm not saying I would have picked it as my choice, but it does show that the tech has come a long way. I've never watched this side by side against the new G3, but my x95l looks much better than my G2. I haven't had one OLED fan(myself included) disagree while seeing them together at my place. Note, Andrew Robinson said he picked last year's Sony x95k over the C2 for his main tv, and now he has the x95l. Shane Lee just picked the x95l has his main TV, so there are other examples of TV reviewers picking it. I think many of us have biases and never like change, so many won't believe it or give it a chance. I'm a very open-minded individual who just loves tech and can only share my experience.

Often 85" models get that extra tender loving care - probably has more dimming zones to boot - Sony's are not cheap - so someone buying a 83" A90J say 2 years ago are probably looking to hold for awhile - same as this - I think next year is my year to buy - as a lot of pressure coming to 83" to 85" space: MLA , QD-OLED - newer mediatek chips - may consider a next year 77" Panasonic MLA. What a great comparison! 👏 I really am impressed with the low APL/shadow detail performance of the X95L. It comes as no surprise tho, as Sony made it, and it’s been a strong suit of theirs for years. What I like about Sony the most, is they’re pixel peepers like us. Nit pickers per say. How much value are these tvs really when all you're really paying for is good sdr and half done hdr. The quantum dot layers are cheaply done too, producing very noticeably less color than pricey rivals. Mini-leds are much higher in zone count on these chinese giants but they're distributed evenly across the panel so there isn't much benefit to zone smoothness like they advertise (cheaper for them) and the algorithm of aggressive blooming suppression dumbing down the tvs true capabilities. Don't even get me started on the poor effort of maintaining accuracy with different window sizes, even samsung doesn't do it. Hopefully you'll do another dedicated video comparing the X95L to various OLEDs because in your side-by-side comparisons it actually looked closer to the reference monitor in dark scenes than any of the OLEDs you've shown in these type of comparisons. As you know, many OLEDs either crush some shadow detail as shown in your Revenant clip or raise it above reference like on the Sony OLED models. You could also show the advantages that these type of LCDs have on dark uniformity (lack of vertical streaking) and the cleaner dark presentation without adding noise or dithering present on OLEDs. Thanks.

After watching this video and reading other comments online, I think it’s fair to say that Sony has mastered its local dimming algorithm, which together with its class-leading XR processor make Sony’s premium LEDs worth the extra cash. If I watching TV in the daytime or in a bright room, this would be my first choice. For those of us who prefer Dolby Vision over HDR10, and watch TV in dimly-lit rooms, opting for the A80L or A95L makes more sense. The 65 inch A95L is gonna have a retail price of $3,499 in the US, so if Sony can stay within range of Samsung and LG by a couple hundred dollars then we can expect a competitive prices as the G3 and A95L go down in price. I have compared this with Samsung Super AMOLED side by side and many other modern monitors these days came out on the market. Nothing looks as good as the Huawei IPS display of my phone. I have compared my phone with Oled and Woled also. Texts are not perfect on Oled and it has got a sort of red border around every pixel. All top brands are selling us crap these days. Pay a huge amount of cash for an OLED and it burns in pixels and gets a lot of dead pixels in less than a year. I think Samsung has done a great job with its VA panel. If the VA panel becomes as fast as IPS then OLED will not be sold in the market with their burn-in issues. A 3500:1 contrast ratio is good enough. My phone's IPS display has a contrast ratio of 1500:1 and there is no bleeding or glow at all. It means, if they want they can make a better IPS panel. Even top brand like LG has got a bad level of IPS glow.

Do you think Sony will update the mediatek chip and the TV processor for the 2024 models? As in using a new name other than XR processor, and having four HDMI 2. ports? I feel Sony will have a new processor next year because it is about the same time window when they upgrade.

how does game mode look? as the native contrast is lower, with a laid-back dimming system during game mode I'm afraid it doesn't look as contrasty in dark scenes? QN95C you reviewed has more dimming zones and contrast and yet..

The conclusion people should arise isn’t that less zones is better, or “imagine what they could achieve with more zones”…it’s that there is actually a sweet spot between number of zones, performance and compromise, and that refinement takes a lot of “know how”, development and testing.

I've noticed this with Apple's XDR displays. Not the most zones, but quite good algorithm to handle blooming. Though, I do with that number of zones was a good measure because it's very difficult (without great reviews like Vincent's) to know what mini LED performance will be like across brands and models.

ABOUT BLOOMING AND SUBTITLES: the most annoying thing is not the slight halo around the subtitles but that even the center field region of a display "lights up" and thus changes the coloring. It looks like someone is turning on a light bulb behind the screen on-and-off as the subs appear-and-disappear over and over in dialog scenes. This was my experience and issue on the Q90R and I had 2 of them and they had the same problem. Never heard of anyone addressing.
@gunnyo50 Жыл бұрын
Vincent does that intentionally by turning up his camera ISO to highlight the TV's blooming control. For most ppl that'll potentially buy the TV blooming control won't be as crazy that he usually shows on his TV reviews for LED TVs.

The Sony seems to ramp up/ramp down the backlight over like 0.2 or 0.3 seconds with the subtitles at 2:53 and that is TERRIBLE it should instantly adjust not leave a huge grey patch on a black background for 0.3 seconds after the white subtitle disappears.
@blackcaesar8387 Жыл бұрын
I don't think its a myth. Many of us who who buy TCLs and hisenses just don't think the Sony's picture quality is worth the 300% cost. 1:43 What's up with TCL C845. The qm8 in the US doesn't struggle with local dimming like that.
@titntin5178 Жыл бұрын
All depends if you value correct fidelity or not. If not, you can get cheap pictures from the cheap brands. In general , people with little regard for fidelity wouldnt be watching a channel dedicated to ultimate fidelity and with the advice of such a knowledgable proffesional calibrator.
@blackcaesar8387 Жыл бұрын
@@titntin5178 There is an in-between, you know. its about value for money. We are not talking about $500 Walmart tvs here. These are top hisense and tcl models that get you most of the way in terms of picture quality, but not quite there. Is a little more shadow detail really worth an extra $2000? may be to a religious videophile.

Guys... Your TVs/monitors/phone screens are fine. It's vinces camera that is probably about to die how many dead pixels it has. Scared the shit out of me.

@@hdtvtest Are you sure Vince? Look at 0:53 for example on the Sony side TV you can see literally 1 or 2 pixels that is totally white and if you focus on it, it persists on all darker images... @@hdtvtesti want to buy this X95L. So tell me Vincent, when the input lag is for gaming in gamemode 120 fps 8,9 ms and 60 fps 17,9 ms. TV is a very complicated device, number of zones is important if there is a good algorithm and processor.
@jc2126 Жыл бұрын
But if Sony can do so much with fewer zones, why not ratchet up the zones and do even better? Is adding zones very costly or is there some other issue with adding zones?
@dubsynczz Жыл бұрын
cost is likely the main one. If they added zones they'd either have to make the tv alot more expensive or cut into their profit margin.
@jc2126 Жыл бұрын
@@dubsynczz why is adding zones costly? isn't it just a function of processing power? they have one of the best chips in the business
@hdtvtest Жыл бұрын
@jc2126: What @dubsynczz said is correct. More dimming zones require more LEDs + more advanced controller, which drives up the cost. It just doesn't make business sense, when Sony (or any other company) can just buy OLED panels with pixel-level light control at a cheaper price...
