Good job, I did it with at home without problems :-) Only one point - be carefull when going around the the SIM card door, I broke the frame at the weakest point when disassembling the phone. But nothing horrible and phone is working as new! :-)))

Unreal. Why the f* are precision tools needed to replace a simple battery in smartphones nowadays? It would be understandable if capacity would be substantially higher. But this is not the case.

It's called "forced obsolescence". Nothing is built to last anymore, which is one of many reasons why we are beginning to feel the impact of catastrophic climate change. Most of the blame is still placed on the end-users (of every product we buy, not just phones), where we are told to stop using plastic straws, to bring our own bag to the grocery store, to recycle, etc. All of those things are important, but ultimately they don't do anything... it's like trying to use a squirt gun to put out a house fire. The manufacturing arm of these massive corporations is responsible for the vast majority of climate change and pollution because capitalism is engineered to create and endless demand for consumption. Ergo, Sony and Apple and all the others will continue to sell the same phone with minor improvements to the same customers every year... instead of just selling them that is built to last.

Sasasas Alala non single phone is waterproof, they only water resistance phones. and yes, samsung have phone successfully made with removable battery and in same time - water resistant phone! Non changeable batteries phones is easy to make and cost les, and like jentelment said abow - the people buy new phone, instead trying to go through all that changing process - there is only few of us smart left in world! all gone crazy as apple washed they brains off :D

Its to get u to buy a new phone more often. Thye make sure the batteries dont last long and get u to keep getting must have apps on the phone to kill the battery faster. The battery can only be recharged a set number of times before it wont recharge fully so u need to charge it up more often which kills it even faster. Nothing to do with water proofing them as water wil get in though the charging port. headphone socket, microphone and speaker holes and sim slot. My old sony Ericson T220 lasted me 10 years cause the battery cover came off and easy to replace the battery. that only died cause the phone network blocked the sim card to force me to buy a new phone after they closed down the 2G network and the phone didnt work on 3G. Same is going to happen with my doro flip phone. battery cover comes off so can replace the battery but thats 3G and their shutting down the 3G network in a couple of years in the UK. its not about having faster speeds for phone networks. By keep bringing out newer networks. its about forcing ppl to get new phones to work with it. then shutting down the older networks to bully u into getting a new phone.
