Nice video guys! Saved me a few bucks. Anyway, 3 of the repair shops I asked for a quote out of 4 would not touch the Z5, so resolved to do it myself. Only one criticism/suggestion: for a screen replacement, it's not necessary to remove the vibrator from the housing (9:00). I was vigilent enough to realise it was not needed, but I suppose if I was slightly more tired, I might have tried to do it even though it was not necessary. I understand that showing a complete teardown has the advantage of allowing the viewer to see what to do for any repair, but just a little mention such as "to replace vibrator, do this... but for a screen, the step is not necessary" could be helpful.

Very good and detailled Video. Thumbs up ! Just as an Information for people who want to do it theirselves. My Sony Xperia Z5, sometimes was a bit different. For example one more screw in the mainboard. Second, despite removing the battery, the first steps (removing cameras) are totally unnecessary for removing the connerctor, just in case thats what you want to do. You dont have to remove the mainboard completely, just lift it at the end so you have access to the connector.

Do the single sim variant and the dual sim variant use a different type of screen? I tried getting mine repaired, but they said they only have the screen for the single sim so they couldn't repair my dual sim variant. Is this true? Thanks a lot.

Hey people. Have a sony z5 screen replacement. Tested new screen and it was working fine. So I reassembled the phone. Tested the screen after glue. So continued. At last Part after i pushed the Loudspeaker in the screen only had White colour. Thought maybe some contact are not ok. Took speaker out. And it worked again. So pushed it back in. Again not working right. I have then Took the sticker from oldu screen on the connector of New screen but now with or without speaker the screen stays white no Image. Can you please help ?

Once the device has been opened it will no longer be water resistant.

Umar Abid Hi, yeah it happened to me...i would have tried this but i needed a fast fix. Paid £30 to get it out. I put in the sim withought the tray...

+Moises Pantoja It's possible you received a defective camera. Also if the camera had any hard impact in shipping it's possible the lenses could have been knocked out of alignment.
