This advantage is what made me purchase the camera. Looking at all the pros and cons, catalyst browse is a *godsend* at producing gymbal-like footage. And it's literally a free program too!!

@@clay_freespirit Yes, but it cannot do batch exports AND also you need a fairly good computer AND, even with that, the renderin time is just horrendous. Still, it's better then having nothing.

You can get rid of rolling shutter in the zv-e10 by running the affected footage in Sony's free software: Catalyst Browse. It also stabilizes the video, so you don't even need to turn on in-body stabilization while filming.

I highly recommend this camera. I have one and absolutely love it. Its not really suitable for professional work but for personal photos and videos it's amazing. It punches way above it's price point, is small and compact and has excellent image quality. I'd recommend getting a small rig cage for it though. I find the grip on the camera too small and the cage being metal protects the plastic body from knocks. It's a wonderful camera.

I shoot weddings and need two sd card slots for redundant recording. I have used it as a second angle on paid gigs however it has overheated in hot rooms shooting 4k for longer than 20 mins. for youtube and low pressure work its great but i wouldn't trust it on stressful one take jobs. my main camera is an fx30.

The ZV-E10 has gyro data and you can use catalyst browse. That alone blows any video shooting arguments the a6400 has.

I used to have 6d mkii and also 5d mkiv. Wanted small but powerful and this was reeeal cheap for the sensor it packs. I use it for photos tho. Mostly for my own travel stuff, but I have done pro shoots with it!

If you're buying zv-e10 i recommend you getting Sony FE 50mm 1.8 lens, i got one used (like new for 60% of the retail price) and it is a looot sharper and overall better than the kit lens.

Hi Curtis. I see you have also the Sigma 24-70 2.8. I like compact came gear, that's why I was checking these ZV-E10 with the Sigma 18-50 lens. But as I also have a Full Frame setup for more serious works, I want to ask you if you prefer the Sigma 24-70 2.8 over the Sigma 28-70 2.8? Yes, the 28-70 2.8 is more compact, but would you miss the 24-28 range, so is it really worth it to go for a more compact lens or is it better to stay in a complete 24-70 lens? Thank you mate!

Thank you for the video. I use the a7siii as my main camera and the ZV E10 for B-roll shots. It's a fantastic combination for me. I often film B-roll shots from unusual perspectives, which is often easier with a small and lightweight camera. 😉 Additionally, the ZV E10 features the new Sony color profile, making it better suited for combinations with other new Sony cameras, and the videos are much easier to match in post-production.

@@Sudarvannan05 it depends if you want to use it ona gimbal or not.. if you use it on a gimbal i woud buy small and light weight prime lenses like a sony e 11mm f1.8, sigma 16mm f1.4, sigma 30mm f1.8 If you do handheld you can always use bigger zoom lenses, for example the sigma 18-50 f2.8, tamron 17-70 f2.8 or the sony 16-55 f2.8 g

@@Sudarvannan05 if you are on a small budget i can reccommend the following: buy a zv-e10 or a6400 + the 16-50mm kit lens. Then buy an Crane M2S Gimbal and you are good to go. This Setup offers insane quality that you could also use for professional work and its really light weight. I have this exact same setup and im shooting car videos with it. Dont let people tell you the kit lense is bad, of course you can buy better lenses in future, but for the beginning its insanely good, budget friendly and really light weight. i had a full frame setup with a gimbal before, it used to weight 3times as much..

I have exactly the combo, ZV-E10 with the Sigma 18-50 and am really extraordinarily satisfied. And here's the thing: I need it almost exclusively for fotography. 😉 What I can get out of the RAW and the compact dimensions are the reason why my A7iii stays at home most of the time. If I really need better material than from the E10 and a suitable lens, then I rent a Hasselblad X2. Anyway, I don't think about full frame anymore. The only thing that really bothers me, and you're absolutely right about that, is that the display on almost all Sony cameras with those 920k is just yesterday's garbage. Such an important part, which the manufacturers today could more or less take off the shelf in much better quality and install, I can't understand and also the few bucks more everyone would gladly pay. In product or business photography, I therefore always work from the laptop. There I see everything bigger, brighter and in Retina quality and it works wonderfully! I have Canon R5 and lots of EF lens and some RF lens before. I heard many ppl are switching to Sony, and I want to learn how to take good videos so I have brought ZV-e10 for a try. I am really surprised by its photography capabilities and always love to bring it instead of my R5😂 Finally it make me to make the tough decision: sold all Canon stuffs and brought an A7R5. But what I can tell you is: I still love to bring my ZV-e10 more than A7R5 to go out as it is much lighter. By the way your street photography video in London really encouraged me to use it more even in rain 😂

I think if it was a 50/50 split of productivity, then my choice would be: the cheaper one! You can use the extra couple hundred bucks you did not spend on a decent lens for your use case. Then when you upgrade the cam, you STILL have that awesome lens from before!

Definitely the ZV-E10, just for its flip screen & fantastic video capabilities. Quality of photos are at par with the 6400. If paired with sony 11mm f1.8, digital stabilisation can also be used.

I have an iPhone 15 pro, and used it for everyday photography and making videos for my videographer portfolio, but I wanted an actual camera, and without much thought I bought the Zve10 and used it to make a few videos however the stability even when using a gimbal is poor, maybe it’s just my camera but it have a warp when shooting outdoor subjects and buildings, and slight flicker in quality, I ended up just using my iPhone 15 pro with the DJI mobile 6 gimbal from now on, the zve10 is handy for photography but when doing video I’d only recommend as a secondary camera, or a vlogging camera where you don’t mind review slight warp and shoty stability, I want my first few videos to look good and can’t with the zve10, even shooting realestate videos for free, my iPhone 15 pro is way better, I can’t get around the warp and flicker if the frame using the e10, so I’m wanting to save my money for Sony zve1 or similar later on, but for right now my iPhone 15 pro, with the DJI mobile 6 gimbal and the Blackmagic video app holy moly is it a beast, and far easier to use as a beginner

I have had a Sony a6400 almost since it came out, and on the other hand, I have had a few mirror-less cameras in the same class by other makers. For me, the biggest difference is the eye-level viewfinder. I do use the a6400 back screen sometimes, but outdoors in bright sunlight the viewfinder is always consistently usable, whereas if I am stuck using the rear screen on any of my cameras, I need to find a way to shade it with my hand somehow to view it.

For me a big think is, that the 6400 is Weather Sealed :D And I target for the 6400 for take Photos. It have min and max ISO, thats kinda cool too.. only down side for me is, that the 6400 dosent have the flip and tilt screen like the ZV-E10 /:

I'm acutally very sure, that sony is holding back the option on purpose. It used to be available on my ZV-1 with an older firmware, but sony removed it with a firmware update. I guess they don't want to cannibalize their RX100 and A6000 Series.

I bought 2 of these cameras, I've donw international work and had ver good results, it has some things you may think are small problems until you customize the buttons, then you can't make quick changes to your settings, it works perfectly after that, the only reason I'll get an additional camera is for 10 bit

Personally i think there are better options. This is a good camera for vlogging but it’s a few years old and you can get other cameras in this price range. For example, look into the canon T rebel series. They are very nice with photography and easy to figure out, not to mention they are really well priced (I like the canon rebel t7)

It could, however I wouldn’t recommend it, as maybe it was just my zve10, but I made a wedding video and I was using a gimbal with it, however shooting outside with it, I noticed a warp and slight frame flicker, like it’s so small but when played on bigger screen it’s very noticeable, the stability on the camera is poor and made my video look awful in playback, makes me wish I used my iPhone 15 pro with the DJI mobile 6 gimbal, as well as the Blackmagic camera app, that is honestly way better and better results for a beginner videographer like myself who doesn’t yet have money for fancy equipment just yet, the zve10 isn’t really good if you want pitch perfect video quality, it’s better for indoor still video or a vlogger who doesn’t mind the quality, Maybe it was a default in my camera I don’t know, but I’d recommend a more expensive Sony camera, a7iii is very good, I saw somebody just hand held filming at a weddings bd the results were amazing, no issues, so no the Zve10 isn’t good enough for more professional wedding video results in my personal opinion, good for everyday vlogging for indoor more controlled lighting use

The photos from a6000 & a6400 are so similar I wouldn’t upgrade to it, better going full frame as an upgrade or stick to a6000 unless it’s fro 4K video which less likely to overheat and weather sealing that’s prob the only main advantage of the two

I bought ZV-e10 as an upgrade from a6000 since I had like like from 2016, I can say it's way better in low light and the autofocus/eyeautofocus are crazy accurate, it only lacks an EVF but I bought one external thing for EVF that is attached to the screen when I go out if is too bright, unless Sony decides to release a real external EVF like some of their cameras that are lacking it.

After watching hundreds of videos about this and other camers and trying to choose which one to buy, I am now convinced that these companies make flawed products just so they can always release the next 'improved model'. 1. Go-Pro - has been overheating for like 10 generations 2. Dji ActionCam 3 - out of focus 3. ZV-e10 - garbage screen, no 4k 60fps, no weather sealing, no view finder 4. ZV1 - small sensor, garbage screen, no weather sealing 5. A6400 - no image stabilisation, no flip screen etc, etc, etc

i ended up buying the ZV-E10 a while back. the only benefits of the a6400 seemed to be the EVF, weatherproofing/better build quality, and slightly better grip. but honestly the EVF is tiny, and I didn't really enjoy looking through it in the store. the weatherproofing doesn't matter bc I bought the sigma 18-50mm which isn't weatherproofed. that leaves the only real benefit being a slightly better grip. with that said, for some reason, I still wish I had the a6400...haha, but the ZV-E10 was cheaper with better video features

I was considering the zv e10. I'm aware its marketed as a vlogging camera, but I don't plan to use it for vlogging. I'm also aware it doesn't have IBIS, so I was going to get a Sony SEL-35F18 standard lens (fixed focal length, 35mm, F1.8) I'm not a beginner and I mostly film in natural/ambient light, handheld. Documentary feel, "music films, live sessions.." very similar to your shots, not studio/polished shots. Has anyone been using it long enough to give me reviews? and is the lack of Ibis and rolling shutter such deal breakers as people say they are? I'm hoping to purchase it within the next few days, so your review would be really appreciated. Thank you!

I don’t have this camera but I do have an a6500 and I do shoot professionally. I’d say yes, the rolling shutter is that bad. Handheld is essentially impossible if you’re shooting in 4k. Even full rigged out. I don’t use my a6500 professionally… the 8 bit limitation is a big reason. But if I did, I would feel limited to 1080p. The main reason I’m looking at these cameras personally is for extra tripod angles for cheap. If you are shooting professionally, especially as it relates to music, I’d go straight to the fx30. Timecode is a necessity for multicam and the fx30 is the cheapest Sony camera that can jam sync. It also has internal fans for maximum reliability, 2 card slots, and has the codecs for much more flexibility. It’s also even better in low light, has better stabilization than either of these 2 cameras, better autofocus, and is one of the only 2 Sony apsc cameras that don’t have horrendous rolling shutter at 4k. It also has clear image zoom which is a lossless digital zoom that is extra helpful for getting the shot on the fly. I’d also recommend either getting the sigma 18-50mm f2.8 or getting the Mc-11 adapter and the sigma ef 18-35mm f1.8. I’ll also say that catalyst browse is great but has its limitations, especially as it relates to workflow. Running a whole day’s worth of footage through catalyst browse is not realistic for a professional workflow. If you’re looking to gyro stab your Sony cam, your best bet is to get the free Gyroflow plug-in for davinci resolve. It’s still not perfect but it’s a lot better of a workflow. Takes a lot more effort to figure out though.

Sorry the critic about the lcd display is ignorant. upgrading the lcd display will increase the price. which sony already have a model with that. Sounds like you to buy the correct camera.

Josh you are certainly entitled to that opinion. However, in the past there have been budget DSLR cameras that have better LCD then what you find on this sony. Sony have got a bad habit of putting low quality LCDs in their cameras and to have it this one when it's the only screen you have is a bit disappointing. It's just a cut saving method rather a problem of it being more expensive. What I am presenting in this video is the facts and presenting them how I see fit. Your comment has a lot of flaws contained within it but nevertheless have a good day
