I don’t know why he reacted as he did, it’s like he had a mental problem also, because his reaction was bizarre. Massey also was acting strange. Her answers were evasive and slow to come, and why was she boiling water on the stove in the wee hours of the night? Why did she call for police when she was not going to answer the door when they got there? She claimed she wasn’t dressed and that’s strange when you should be if you are expecting the police. When the officer asked was that her car in the driveway, why did she say the black car was not hers but minutes later then say it was? They were ready to leave until she changed and said it was her car and someone had damaged it. They came in to make sure the house was clear and to get her name and information for the report which she drug her feet not giving the card with her information to them or tell her name, changing the subject each time. He told her to take care of the stove that was turned on because he didn’t want a fire. You would think she was going to turn the stove off of the boiling water but picked it up instead! That made no sense. The officers did not trust her intentions because there was no reason to pick up the water. She even asked why are you backing up. He said I do not want that hot water on me. Strangely she all of a sudden said I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ. There was no reason to pick up the hot water. They did not tell her to pick up hot steaming water. I believe she was mental and you cant trust what is going on in their heads sometimes. I believe she was up to no good even if she thought she was doing the lords work. The officer should have never handled it that way. He took her life and might as well say he has assassinated own self too because he will be punished brutally for that horrible deed.

She had a demon. Look at her house, her behavior, etc. She was suffering like the man who has Legion in him. We don't rebuke demons, God does. Jude 1:8-9 ESV - Yet in like manner these people also, relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, and blaspheme the glorious ones. But when the archangel Michael, contending with the devil, was disputing about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you.” She relied on her dreams, resulting in her calling the cops to begin with. She defiled her flesh with pharmaceuticals, sorceries. She rejected authority by GETTING OFF THE FLOOR AMD GRABBING THE POT AGAIN! Jude 1:10 ESV - But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively. Her instincts were to treat the people she called for help as a threat. She relied on her own wisdom, and tried to throw hot water on a guy with a gun. Why didn't she just stay down and pray "the Lord rebuke you" Why did she do everything in her own power?

First-responders trained to scout a situation and decide if back-up with firepower is required or not. I know that sounds crazy to us, because it would be an entirely new concept. But if you look to the UK, it does work, and will be safer for most calls to being responded to. Police should focus more on protecting themselves by shielding themselves and less by ending the life of their opponent. Our SAFETY is supposed to be in THEIR hands.

Wow the 3D story is unexppectedly perfect. SHE THROW THE POT! However, the analysis is different from my analysis. Why they need to draw a gun? [He pull a gun without no reason, in her own home] There are several reasons to pull a gun. 1. There is a black car in her driveway, windows broken. When asked, she told it is not hers. A while later, when asked, she miraculously know when the windows break. She own a car or not? Why she know when windows of the car she did not own break? What is she hiding? 2. It took quite a while to find her id card, and it is not yet found. Did she just really lost it, or she does not want the cop to know her identity?ID card may link herself to the car and can found out that she just hit and run innocent people? Maybe not but as a good cop he should check it first. 3. Instead of continue to find her ID card, she offered to take care of the stove. The cop never told her to take care of the stove.. 4. She move the hot pot nearer to the cop without reason. Why shutting off the stove is not enough? Move pot to the sink for what? Rinse out the water? Boil water then rinse water away? For what? Why Now? In the middle of police investigation.? 5. Cryptic phrase. I am going to xxx you in the name of jesus. While holding hot pot of water. It still sound dangerous no matter what xxx words is. In fact rebuke in this context mean exorcise evil spirit with holy water. 6. She is crazy. She said god god god jesus jesus bible without context almost 20 times throughout the conversation. Do you want to risk getting injured by a crazy girl with hot water in hand? 7. In the end the cop guessed correct that she is dangerous. She did actually throw the water at him.

Good video! This is the official statement from the police department that fired Grayson after the shooting. Statement from Sangamon County Sheriff Jack Campbell "The Body Worn Camera footage has now been released, and the public can see what we saw: Sonya Massey lost her life due to an UNJUSTIFIABLE and RECKLESS decision by former Deputy Sean Grayson. Grayson had OTHER OPTIONS available that he should have used. His actions were INEXCUSABLE and do not reflect the VALUES OR TRAINING of our office. He will now face judgment by the criminal justice system and will NEVER again work in law enforcement. Ms. Massey NEEDLESSLY lost her life, and her family deserves answers. I trust the legal process will provide them. This incident does not reflect the values or actions of our law enforcement community. It was a tragic decision made by an individual who had the training, tools, and experience to know better. We are committed to upholding a standard that prevents such tragedies from occurring in the future. Thank you. Sheriff Jack Campbell" In the DA's filing they noted that the Illinois State Police carried out an investigation where they reviewed BOTH cameras. They concluded that Grayson was NOT justified in his use of force. And they likened the scenario to an officer INTENTIONALLY and UNNECESSARILY putting himself in front of a moving vehicle and then justifying use of force for fear of being struck. So it's not case closed like a lot of his supporters think. There is a reason why he was dismissed so swiftly and why the DA is filing charges. Yep the same the police that always protect each other want nothing to do with him now.

He had his gloves on when he got out the car. This was a hit, I don't care what any one else says those two went there night to off this woman, I know she had prior contact with this department. The way he propped her screen door open when they arrived, so Grayson know to turn on his cam after he shoots someone, but not when he enters a a civilian home, why did he not activate his camera as soon as he felt threatened. The man could clearly see she was not holding the pot anymore when he was commanding her to drop the effn the pot. The pot is irrelevant it is just a pre-text to justify her murder. She was sitting next to a metal bat on the couch they did not see that as a weapon, she was probably boing the water in case someone broke in to defend herself she is a small woman, she never threatened the cops, I feel so bad for this lady, this cop should face a firing squad.

“Act out to make her defend herself”….. that doesn’t make sense, and it’s probably not going to hold up in court…. At least you are willing to admit the pot was thrown

This was a horrific murder. She called for help because she heard a prowler. Little did she know she opened her door to pure evil...or maybe she sensed the evil in him in her final moments.

CAMPION BARROWS AND ASSOCIATES is the so called psychologist firm who cleared him for duty. Campion also has a history of discrimination. Multiple complaints and lawsuits. They also got dropped by multiple departments for discrimination. This individual clearly demonstrated behaviors of aggressiveness, and poor decision making. Grayson is clearly a psychopath! How can Campion Barrows and Associates even conduct assessments when they pass guys like this and discriminate constantly?

This is a really good logical view of what happened. I came to the same conclusion. What really bother me is hearing these cops say drop the pot when it is on the sink's counter. She does not have it when she crouched on the floor. How could they say this and not see the pot on the counter.

There's rumors that some cops know how to give bad commands on purpose, to like.. trick a person into doing something that could get them shot. Idk if he pulled one of those or if he's just stupid, I mean he continued to say drop the pot even after he shot her.

This one baffles and troubles me. There's just no logical explanation for that cop shooting dead an unarmed woman. He should not get away with it. Sickening. I have to suspect there was racism here. That poor lady did nothing to justify her shooting, it was murder in my view.

I think he should spend the rest of his life in prison. I did try to watch the video without letting my emotions take over. It's easy to see what you want to see when you are outraged. Here are some observations that I have noted: 1. I think he was annoyed to be there. She took too long to answer the door and that didn't help. He revealed his true colors before she came to the door with comments such as "she is probably hiding her drugs" and "maybe she is already dead" 2. I don't think his interaction with her at the door and in the living room were rude or aggressive. Everything felt very chill considering the parties involved both had mental issues. This doesn't mean he was happy to help her. 3. I do think he might have been trying to find out more about her by continuing to ask about the car and by asking for I.D. Maybe he thought she was up to no good because she didn't tell the truth about the car. Perhaps he was fishing for info??? Her answer about the car was odd. She didn't seem concerned that someone just parked a car at her house with a busted window. But once in the house, she said the busted window happened earlier. Earlier when? that day? that week? last month? Very strange. So, was it her car? 4. She invites him in. He did not barge in as some people have suggested. If you listen carefully, you can hear her say "can you come in?" to which he replies "yeah" and then he follows her into the house. It is very low because the partner (whose camera was picking up the audio) had stepped away from them, but in between firework pops, you can hear it. What prompted her to invite him in is unclear since he didn't have his camera on (which is another problem). I have wondered if he asked her for some type of paperwork while they were talking because she mentions paperwork once inside. Officer 2 says "what paperwork?" but Grayson doesn't appear to be confused about her statement. If you recall, O#2 wasn't standing there for the entire conversation, so he wouldn't have heard about any paperwork. 3. She seemed very confused and nervous and hesitant, but not aggressive or threatening. She does seem to be focusing on Grayson more than the other cop. She is obviously not comfortable with him. 4. He didn't initially send her to the kitchen as people keep saying. He motioned for his partner to check. He starts to say "check her..." before he can finish, she notices the interaction and gets up on her own. Then he says, "we don't want a fire". While he didn't tell her to go to the kitchen, her certainly didn't stop her which indicates that they both felt comfortable and nonthreatened by her. 5. I think when she asks, "why are you moving?" and "where are you going?", she knew why he was moving. Her question has a hint of sarcasm in it, which shows that she is starting to become comfortable. The nervousness and confusion from the prior conversation is gone. They are still comfortable at this point because they laugh/chuckle, also with a hint of sarcasm, when they answer her. 6. Her statement about "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus" can have many connotations depending on who is interpreting it. We will really never know what she truly meant. She was looking in their direction when she said it, so it is obviously meant for them. Personally, I think it is rather bold to say that to someone you don't really know, and she has a very strong clear tone when she said it. It was not spoken in the same tone as she used at the door or in the living room. Again, it shows that her nervousness is gone. 7. Grayson doesn't quite know what to make of this statement. All he knows is that the statement is unusual, and he sees a pot of hot water. He makes the worst decision he could have possibly made, which was to draw his gun and point it at her. Something flipped in him, and he lost all sense of reason. I don't know if he was capable of making a rational decision at this point. I wish his partner would have stepped in to tell him to get it together. 8. From this point, all kinds of questions arise. Did she throw the pot or was she trying to dump the water out? Did she grab it because he kept yelling at her to drop the pot even though she didn't have it in her hands? Was the water still hot at that point? Some people think she had added tap water to it, so it was hot anymore. If the water was still hot, did she burn herself? If it wasn't hot, why do we see steam in the chair where the pot landed? Was that steam or gun smoke? 9. He shot two more times after the water and pot were no longer a threat. The pot flew into the chair. The water is on the floor. Why did he continue to shoot two more times? He was pumped up, and I think the only thing he could think of was delivering his promise to shoot her in the face, which he did while she was on the floor, now defenseless because she no longer had the pot of water in her hands. 10. His comments after the shooting line up with his mentality before she came to the door. He didn't care one iota about her safety or her life. Denying her medical care even though it is part of his police training/protocol. Calling her a "crazy b----". Lying to hide his actions. Calling his own partner "dipshit". Why? because he had his camera running? because he tried to stop her bleeding? because he didn't move into a position to shoot at her too? I could be wrong about everything, but there is much to think about.

She said “I rebuke you in the name of Jesus” Because he thought she was gonna throw hot water on him, that was her way of saying God forbid. she had the faucet opened so she could pour the water and he didn’t even give her a chance and pulled his gun. This case makes me sick!

She threatened him, saying why are you stepping away. With that cut out nobody can understand the situation. But that's blacks for you never a shortage of excuses from them or on their behalf. Absolutely justified
@89bavaro894 ай бұрын
I agree he shouldn't have unholstered his weapon and certainly shouldn't have shot her that quick but it's ridiculous to not account for the fact that obviously the woman was mentally unstable, and that this would have been in consideration of the officers. And once he pointed the weapon and she went down she came back up to get the pot which means she did have intention to use it. All this being said I still believe the officer shot too early. But based upon what happened she most likely would have come at him with the boiling water.
@billionairebychoice84363 ай бұрын
So...the water was not even boiling anymore when she picked up the pot, probably just hot but not boiling, because she had the faucet filling up the pot, which would cool the water that was laready in the pot. "Drop the pot" when she doesnt even have the pot in her hands. I usually side with the police, but this was clearly murder in my opinion. You can hear the sink still on in the bodycam video even minutes after she was shot.

Bad Police Shooting. Charge the officer with murder. But she also is 25% culpable, she called the police and then took her sweet time answering the door. Then she retreated to the kitchen. Then oddly tells an officer she does not know; I rebuke you ( To criticize (someone) sharply; reprimand.) makes one wonder., what did she-have up her sleeve? I’ll intent? It is not as if Cops are never called out to a scene and attacked. Her first words at the door when greeting officers was not information of a suspicious person at all. All very strange. Bottom line, Cop did a wrongful death.

Most normal people turn the fire off under the pot of water and move it to another burner. She was using that pot of hot water as a weapon. something was wrong with her. She spooked the cops, and their radar was up. Not Guilty.

@@prettiewomanleethis recreation is actually very accurate. She didn't throw the pot, what happened is she went to place the pot on the floor because he kept saying to drop the pot even though she didn't have it, when she got it off the counter, he shot her, which made the pot fly out of her hands, and what water was in it hit the chair in front of her. People seem to think that people just keep holding on to stuff after they been shot... The first bullet made her body flinch, which is why the pot flew up like that.
