Long awaited darkness falls Casting shadows on the walls In the twilight hour I am alone Sitting near the fireplace, dying embers warm my face In this peaceful solitude All the outside world subdued Everything comes back to me again in the gloom Like an angel passing through my room Half awake and half in dreams Seeing long forgotten scenes So the present runs into the past Now and then become entwined, playing games within my mind Like the embers as they die Love was one prolonged good-bye And it all comes back to me tonight in the gloom Like an angel passing through my room I close my eyes And my twilight images go by All too soon Like an angel passing through my room

ABBA really created masterpiece of art

initially found the arrangement fussy but it has a shimmering quality that really works. As for the vocals ... the floating pianissimi and infinite breath control are just what this dreamy song calls for. Brava Sonya, bravi tutti !

Sonya Yoncheva, je sais que vous parlez couramment le français. Dans cette langue, je vous dis combien vous êtes merveilleuse. Votre voix m'émeut. Un moment de pure beauté et de grâce. Merci pour cela. SLM

What a pleasant surprise! I love Sonya. But I never imagined she could pronounce English that well. It's way better than one might expect. It blew me away! And, of course, she she sings with astounding beauty. Just fabulous! Bravissima!

Why shouldn't she speak good English? She probably learned it as first foreign language at school, and ABBA's songs are imprinted in many people her age from their childhood. Plus, a good lyric singer must master several languages (at least from a musical point of view), they never know which roles they'll end up singing and operas are not only written in Italian.

Hey, this song works well with a baroque ensemble. I once had a rock version of Händel's Messiah. The other way around.

Dobre Dan....Lovely interpretation, and I'm happy to be the N°100 liker....Greetings from France ! Cheers to all Bulgarians around, btw (got a few friends here)...Also I love Ancient music (been singing long time ago in a choir student from Medieval Music Center of Paris, with for instance Catherine Schroeder as a teacher, from Discantus/Alla Franscesca ensembles...). Then centered myself into painting & more recently whisky reviewing & blending (as an amateur). I also have on my website a section (Playlist/Music) about Music...
