Absolute control, absolutely flawless delivery, such delicate but true command and fine attention to detail. Such perfection is no where to be found now a days. Selection of the right kalam of the right shayar for his ghazals and the GOD-GIFTED ability to tune it into the appropriate raga had made the great Khan Saab's gayiki so soulful, soothing, lively and worth - listening again and again without getting bored ! The great Meer Tak-E-Meer Saab, Mirza Ghalib Saab, Bahadur Shah Zafar Saab, Iqbal Saab, Faiz Ahmed Faiz Saab, Qatil Shifai Saab, Ahmed Faraz Saab, and Farhat Shehzad Saab, to name a few, were amongst his most favourite poets ! The great Mehdi Hassan Saab had originally hailed from a small hamlet called ' 'Luna' in the district of ' Jhunjhunu' of the state of Rajasthan (India) wherein sixteen generations of his family lived ! After partition of the country, the great Khan Saab had migrated to Pakistan in 1947, along with his parents, wherein he stayed until his sad demise in 2012 !
