Not sure why Netflix made this move and changed composer for Season 2 really. This is not a bad soundtrack, not a bad composer, it is just not something that should be in Witcher. First season music was unique and so very well done and it was like a very natural part of Witcher universe. I don't hear that slavic touch here anymore. Music has such a huge impact on movies and their atmosphere, changing composers after such a huge success of soundtrack in Season 1 can make a big difference and overall effect will be different. I'm surprised Netflix made this move. I was so inspired by Season one atmosphere, and I was waiting for Season 2 to get even more inspiration for myself, but I'm not excited about this change.

@@aegnor2102 I doubt it. Soundtrack to first season was a huge success - it was not wise to change the direction in such important part of the production. I listened to it yesterday the first time, I found it a little weird, I listened to it several times today, in fact it is incredible. And I think of the scene that will go with it, surely Kaer Morhen. I loved the music from the first season. We might have less of a Slavic style in the soundtrack, but is it really bad if we win in epic, I don't think so. And they still reuse some remixed tracks from S1. The only thing that I was afraid for the S2 was the soundtrack, for the rest everything will be better than the S1, the story, fights, monsters, lights, images.

Although it's not a bad song in itself, it really lacks the mystical slavic vibes, diversity and originality the first season gave us. I fell in love with Sonya et Giona's work, and was hoping for more of it. This one song is fine by me, but not nearly close in comparison to what I've expected the S2 soundtrack to be. Yes, I know it's just one track and it does not reflect the overall quality of the show yet to come, or even the work this new composer surely put in it, but man it doesn't help for now building an unique and interesting atmosphere I've been personnally craving for. Give us something unheard of, for a change, not something interchangeable with any piece of fantasy media already existing.

This composer feels more european leaned and Sonya felt more Slavic leaned, i feel i just listenint to waltz in the first minute then theres that weird peak of the orchestra at the end of 1:57 minutes and it just goes louder from there till 2:40. That small section makes you feel like they are showing the landscape of a city getting closer then you get the 3:38 entrance to which it feel you are now inside the city rather than watching it from afar. I didn't exactly disliked it, i feel is a pretty good composition but feels i'm watching another show rather than the witcher. Like to me this feels like it would fit in a Wheel of Time setting type of story when they first arrive to the white tower for example. That said the ending of this track is beautiful and i do appreaciate the build up.
