I remember when this song first played in the show I thought it was cute and catchy and then it kicks up near the end and the camera swoops back from Geralt and Jaskier on the road and I got chills. It felt like I was watching the genesis of a great epic that really would live for centuries. Like seeing Odysseus first set sail or Gilgamesh meeting Enkidu. @@adamlong1196 If you really want to know (because spoilers, obviously), Jaskier and Geralt are beaten pretty soundly by the "silver-tongued devil" (who's actually nothing of the sort). It turns out he and his "army of elves" (not an army at all) are essentially refugees on the run, so after a tense standoff, they let Geralt and Jaskier go, and Geralt gives them a load of gold because he feels sorry for them. But that doesn't make for a good song, so Jaskier tweaked the events ever so slightly.
