So I picked up this game just about 3 months ago before the Remastered is being released and this is my take on discovering this game's awesome details and also some quick comparison between the Original released in 2015 and the new Remastered by Deck Nine Games released on 1st February 2022.

yep but if you don't comfor Victoria and take a photo of her she will take it from your dorm and if you go to her dorm in the night that you saved/let go of Kate (when you are using your phone as light) you can see the photo on her desk

I definitely feel like I’m gonna become one of those adults who talks too much about the “good old days” when I get older. The remaster looks good (at times) but unless they actually updated it to look like their more recent games rather than a slightly retextured version, I like the strange charm of the older game’s version, bugs, glitchy fingers, and all.

Yeah, most of the time my audio would cut out early, subtitles would just stop randomly (and I have an auditory processing disorder). There wasn’t anything better about the remastered version…

Honestly, yeah. I'd prefer the remastered if it had the same graphics as True Colors. But that would pretty much mean rebuilding the entire game from scratch, so it's understandable. Yet I'll still say the original is better, just because of the nostalgia, it was one of the first games I ever bought myself

You can rewind clouds ? Nice detail. You will not get caught by Jefferson if he is showing his back ? Impressive ! The action figure glow fades and the nightmare song is credited in reverse. Now that is real love from the developpers !

Most of the remaster wasn't worth it, but a few scenes they really did make a difference on. Chloe's request in the alternate timeline shows far more emotion in their faces, especially if Max accepts Chloe's request. Same for the final scene at the lighthouse.

Yea only for those scenes but you can't just make a few ones better and then forget the rest of the game and then sells it as Remaster. Dontnod should've been the one remastering it

Has anyone thought about how people would percieve Maxs abilities? Like those who see max use her power would only see max raise her hand then suddenly shes across the room. Or behind a locked door. People would think her power is teleportation.

They wouldn't see her raise her hand - that happens in the future that gets unwound. Instead, they'd see her doing whatever in one place, and suddenly she's not be there, but across the room (or wherever) lowering her hand.

I have a theory that she isn't actually rewinding time, just moving to an alternate dimension whenever she perceives herself reversing time, so basically she is moving consciousness into another body in a different place in space-time. That's why nobody notices her teleporting or suddenly appearing out of nowhere.

Well considering no one remembers anything but her I don’t think it would matter much, they’d see her hand raise and suddenly be back where they were 20 seconds prior with no recollection of the rewind happening

I agree abobut the remaster comments! Also, I really dislike how they kinda changed Max's facial features. In the remaster, her eyes look bigger and rounder and her face is rounder too - the "original" Max had a longer face and somewhat "emotionless" eyes that were very characteristic in my opinion. I feel like her look before was more unique.

he most shocking one for me is in the last episode when you go through every important places, in jefferson’s classroom the picture have changed, the models on the cover magazines took by jefferson have been replaced by max and the worst one is the picture of the forest on which you could see Chloe and Max digging and finding Rachel’s corpse

The remasters pros dont outweigh the cons imo so im disappointed overall, and the selling point of $40 doesnt help it either when you can simply get the original version practically free. Its like they touched up on the textures, the (worse) lighting and messed with Max's face, slapped a $40 price tag and called it a day. Lip syncing has been improved sure but not as good as it should be, thats literally the only thing that makes it better than the original..

The Remaster is cheaper than the original on Steam actually and its 40 for BOTH games. The original games are 45 with the Farewell DLC, so its 5 more.

I didn't know about the lady bug or the cell phone in class detail. I thought the art gallery interruption one was suppose to happen regardless. I can never do this mini-game right. I missed so much. I love learning about little details. Great video.

I’m trying to figure out is how Victoria found out it was Max who messed with her photos. Does she have access to the security feed or something, plus just reverse time after taking the photo, no evidence equals no stolen cookies

I really hope the game gets better in the future, LiS doesn't deserve a poorly made remaster :( Edit: Also usually when they take the logo of the game which was original and colorful and turn it into a basic white title with a generic font it doesn't turn good (I really like the intro with your name made into a photograph!)

I’ve played this game more times than I can count and still didn’t know about some of these details. This is an excellently edited video! Really sad about the remasters’ overall quality (or, well… lack thereof), though. Seems like Square Enix didn’t give them enough time to actually finish the game and instead rushed it out the door. Hopefully some day it’ll be as polished as the originals, but until then, at least the originals are still available for people to buy. I do really hope Max and Chloe get a proper sequel someday, though-ideally one that launches when it’s actually ready. I think there’s a lot of interesting places their story could go in the future. That, and I just love them with all my heart and want to see them again someday.

With patches it seems to be getting bigger and that can be said for both the remaster (LIS) and True Colors. I would hate for everything to be the same, such as the menu and I like the remaster menu. Other little details from the original should be in the remaster, but the whole rewind thing in the remaster for me is better. LIS gives off that rewinding in time with to the point of a headache. Well, you cant rewind the Doe.......so, almost all. You can re-arrange Victoria's photos, takes picture and rewind. Thats what im doing. Same with Trevors "Tre Flip". Not like it matters, but poor guy.

I get why they remastered it, and I had high hopes, but in hindsight, I kind of feel the 'unpolished' look of the original gave it some of it's charm. Feel like it should've gone more the Halo 2 Anniversary route and completely re-did all the 'cutscenes'

the remaster honestly has better expressions and some scenes hit harder because of it, but idk. the original was janky, but it worked because it had a different art direction. the stiffness of the animation is okay, dare i say good even, because it's painterly and grungy and not trying to be realistic. the remaster kinda just slaps on the aesthetics of the new games without improving anything else and it's jarring to see sometimes

That's a good thought, but it probably didn't help much since it wasn't too important during a more important question about Kate. Maybe it's also because Max probably knows how the principal might not buy her story
