No its not true. It takes really good pictures and videos in auto, that looks very natural. You can always adjust with HDR if you want the picture more colourful.

The Xperia's manual shooting interface has been far superior to the competition for years, and the colors that can be captured with the wide-angle camera are satisfactory for an Alpha series sub-camera. Unfortunately the VENICE look has been lost and the option to be able to control by shutter angle is absolutely necessary.

@@NeiroFoxyou don’t. It’s not a camera with good auto features nor is it marketed to be. If you don’t know you can use this, this isn’t the phone for you. Genuinely You’d be better off buying an iPhone, Vivo 200, or pixel depending on what region you live in. This is meant for enthusiasts who already know they will use all the features this offers. It’s even better if you have a Sony camera as you can actually use it as a large bright monitor for said camera.

For what it's worth I don't think they pulled Xperia out of the US. There was no official announcement (what usually happens when a brand pulls out of a market entirely)...they just didn't sell the mark VI in the US. It's backed up by the fact that this year they also didn't sell the mark VI in China. But when Chinese media reported on it SONY made a point of making a public announcement that they were NOT pulling Xperia out of China. They just weren't selling the mark VI in China. I'm pretty sure it's the same for the US. If the rumours about a product reboot next year are true (the fact that new leadership took over Sony mobile this year might be further evidence backing up the rumours) it's possible that Sony simply didn't want to spend money on releasing the mark VI into two such large markets as it's currently rethinking it's mobile strategy and line up. Which imho is very necessary given tanking Xperia sales.....even in Japan. They seriously need to rethink their whole approach and try something different.

If you want new features you need to go to Samsung. At lest the S22 still gets most of the Galaxy AI features. Sony won’t give new features to older models because it hurts their already low sales. They do the same to their professional camera users

@@vin.k.k there's nothing wrong with that. The issue is not just software but other factors, including battery failure. Batteries only have so much life before they require replacement..gone are the days where you could easily swap out batteries as there's greater need for waterproofing devices. You can still use your device even without software updates. Not ideal to use banking apps etc without security updates. I have devices over 10 years old. Still used today. Samsung and pixel offer pretty good updates. But that's if you can put up with the crap devices. I am willing to sacrifice updates for a better device. If your only not pick on this device is a year or two of Android updates, you really are missing out.

@@gareths9574 still have my xperia 5 II (2020) no security update (banks app) since a while , fingerprint sensor died , screen/battery is fine(the screen really lack brightness in full daylight).... captor is good enough for everyday........but having to unlock with the graphic/model to pay with it is not very secure (or some of my app require a fingerprint) when u r in a queue or at the desk....

Lack of A to B focusing compared to earlier Xperias that had it is very disappointing. Why exclude it? Also, not being able to set volume buttons for manual focus is a letdown. It's difficult getting smooth focus transitions without these tools. The new app is good, but not as good as it used to be.

can it shoot 1400p 48fps or 50fps? Also, why the low res display 😢. Xperia 1 iii 4k display is great, maybe too much, cutting the res in half would have been enough, but cutting it in about 1/4? This Xperia 1 series was almost perfect or me, I'm talking about the display corners being almost lovely square (perfect corner radius size), display flatness also lovely, overall look very classy and beautiful, and much more. But by changing the aspect ratio so radically and dropping the screen res is unfortunately a no no for me.

Следующий вопрос у тебя был, почему поменяли соотношение сторон когда раньше был 21/9, а потому что весь мир только об этом и жаловался, что боятся и не хотят покупать Sony Xperia за его странное соотношение экрана, Японцы это услышали и сделали чтоб он был стандартным смартфоном для всех. Следующий вопрос у тебя был: почему экран разрешение спустили от 4к до Full HD +, и это тоже опять из-за жалоб от всего мира, достали вы все Японцев с жалобой, почему Sony Xperia не возможно сделать частоту обновления экрана адаптивное, в зависимости от того что вы смотрите, раньше Sony Xperia предлагала выбор или 60 Герц, или 120 кадров в секунду, и если поставить 120 кадров в секунду она будет всегда включена даже когда в меню сидите, жаловались что батарею энергии так быстрее тратит, а экран в 4k не возможно было сделать адаптивную настройку частоты обновления экрана, и поэтому пришлось снизить разрешение до Full HD+, вот теперь новая Sony Xperia имеет LTPO OLED экран с адаптивной частотой, жаловались? Ну и получайте в ущерб, в минус снижения разрешения экрана, и за одно ещё и батарея так будет чуть медленнее разряжаться. Привет вам из России, мы в России очень уважаем и ценим Sony Xperia

The aspect ratio hasn't changed much if you have both the 1V on hand to compare, and the experience is actually much better since most of the video format now is still at 16:9, the new ratio perfectly fit between 21:9 and 16:9. Sony's official explanation for the Res drop is to save power, and it did, and there is an unofficial explanation why it's not 2k but 1080, coz Sony's production for 2k screen cannot match up with 1VI, thus 1080 it is.

I would buy it if it had a 4k screen and a larger battery. The screen was a huge selling point for me but when they went to a low resolution screen I went with a competitor who has the same resolution screen but instead of 120 hz it has a 165 hz screen, with more RAM, more storage, a larger battery and was 1/3 less the price. Come on Sony Xperia, get your act together! I love your products WHEN YOU DO THEM RIGHT.

Larger battery doesn't automatically imply for a longer battery time There's no practical use for 120+ hz screen on mobile devices right now, even 120hz is mostly a gimmick for fps gaming only, which most of the people won't touch that area, even for people that would, they won't do so for most of their time, and it's a pain in thr axx for battery time. More RAM for what? 12 GB is pretty enough, iphone is still sticking at 8GB bro. 4k is totally overkill, 2k is much suitable, and like 120hz, 4k is a pain in the axx for battery time, i hope they have 2k in vii About the price, did you forget the build quality for all the headphone jack, expandable sd slot, dedicated camera button better camera sensor, textured glass panel??????

@@robertlawrence9000 the Xperia 1 V does not actually have a 4K screen, it has an unorthodox resolution which is 1644x3840. While the vertical pixel count is 3840 which is the same as 4K, it’s because it is a tall phone. Real 4K should be 2160x3840 (like on the Xperia Z5 Premium if you remember that) or horizontal pixel count = 2160. Usually people use the horizontal pixel count to determine the resolution on a vertical screen and vertical pixel count on a horizontal screen (720p, 1080p, 1440p, 2160p). When I mentioned QHD+ I mean something with a resolution of 1440x**** depending on screen ratio. Take the Samsung Galaxy S24+/Ultra for example, they have a resolution of 1440x3120 which is not that different from the 1 V’s 1644x3840. While you may be thinking at least that means the 1 V screen is sharper, and while in fact it is objectively so, there are apps which are more optimized for standardized resolutions such as FHD+ (1080x****) and QHD+ (1440x****) and may look odd or suffered from artifacts from upscaling to the unorthodox resolution of the 1 V. The change into the standardized FHD+ is a good one from my perspective as it’s not distinguishable from QHD+ from a normal viewing distance of about 30cm, if you really want a sharper screen QHD+ should be on your wishlist instead of the faux-4K on the previous gen as QHD+ and 1 V’s faux-4K is even more indistinguishable than FHD+ vs QHD+. Note: beside resolution, screen size is also an important factor to determine the sharpness of the screen (to calculate pixel density) but I skip this to keep things simple because most flagships nowadays have similar screen sizes anyway.

It's a lovely video but if I was in charge of Xperia, I would never publish this kind of video. His statement that the phone lasted 2 days with heavy use in bright conditions is just a lie. I have the 1VI and it has an amazing battery life, with moderate use I can get 2 days battery life, with heavy use maybe 1.5 days at best. The b-roll is shot on Xperia but it went a heavy make over in a postprocess with maybe adobe Premier Pro or something like that, color correction, adding stabilisation...etc. We can argue that a 700€ phone can get you the same (or near the same) results if you got that kind of professional treatment in post processing. I appreciate Sony for trying but this is the wrong direction, they speak to "creators" and "professionals" and ignore the normal users (99% of the smartphone users), the mainstream. I can guarantee you Sony, that all of your "creators" and "professionals" use an iPhone. And he said "mate" like 50 times, so annoying.

Looks amazing but I've had very bad experiences with Xperia phones in the past, all of them just fell apart, so many faults. & I'm someone who can have the same phone for years, I feel that I handle my stuff pretty well, but Xperia phones always just fell apart for me so I don't think I'd be putting any money down for a new one any time soon

There is no warranty, no after service if it breaks and you need repairs, and you cannot get it on a contract since it is not sold by service providers because the phone is not sold in most countries. The vast majority of people get their phones through their local service providers. And they get the phones on contracts without having to pay outright for the phone upfront. The vast majority of people DO NOT buy their phones outright online from overseas.
