[Exclusive] PSY Talks about "Gangnam Style" during Press Conference in Paris

The worldwide phenomenon, PSY went to France last November to promote his worldwide hit "Gangnam Style." After reuniting thousands of people for his flashmob near the Eiffel Tower, PSY held a press conference. Soompi France attended the event along with thirty journalists from all around the world. Now there's a thought - Psy's music in North Korea. I have a kind of hard time imagining that that would happen, unless it was illegally, but who knows. Like he said - I hope.

8:30 this man had really big ambitions... unfortunately, this strong sense of global pressure is probably the least conducive thing to natural creativity. his best songs are produced when he's just producing for an audience that he knows and knows well. he had big ambitions of English songs, but the fact that he is usually a solo songwriter doesn't help. BTS can still write with 10 people credited for one track, and they've made successes that way. i didn't think of psy's dream like this, and it adds this sense of ambition and failure to the overall narrative of psy's history... he's strong as an artist, as a concert performer, and as a manager already -- but when reminded of what could have been (in theory), it seemed like such a beautiful (yet unrealistic) dream, when English music isn't really his strength. i have to say, as much as i like his 7th and 8th albums (which also had the dreams of going big overseas), i like his 9th album best where he dropped that appeal to overseas, and the only thing he needs to do is to present himself to korea as a respectable, capable, new and hip CEO of a company that he founded. that's pretty good already.
