*SOON GONE* | PT 4: Full Journey on Route 241 | Scania OmniCity | LX58CDV/SLN 15001 | 8th April 2024

Here is the 4th part of the series, however this is not my next trip after my previous one, which was the H28 to Bulls Bridge, as I missed a couple journeys to upload to save in my gallery for later as I do not have the actual pictures of the buses yet. Moving onto the series, this one was more of a valuable journey to experience, as this Scania OmniCity is the oldest in London still running, as said in the title (001), and as the title also says, soon gone, as if I’m not mistaken, this bus is on borrowed time on routes 474 and 241, however I have decided to ride it on route 241 which starts here at Stratford City Bus Station and terminates at Silvertown, Royal Wharf/Pontoon Dock Station. Slighly unfortunately though, this bus route is a bit underwhelming to be honest, especially for the OmniCity, as there is mostly just industrial areas throughout, and big buildings surrounding everywhere. But I thought there was no choice at the time, and it would just be allocated to that route before it gets withdrawn, but I was mistaken and turned out that it runs on 474 as well for now. Luckily, I had a good driver, and at some points I could really feel her putting her foot down on the gas at some points and feeling the cooling fans really boot up and whoosh, which was pretty loud nevertheless, but I was wearing AirPods at the time, so I didn’t experience everything with my ears 🤣 The engine is pretty thrashy, which is nice coupled up with a good driver who can make it release some of its potential, and it’s overall just nice to see it still running. The stop bell sound sounded a bit peculiar though, like a beep from the rear door shutting sound, which is not what I have personally seen on other OmniCites, which is a bit weird, but there was also no rear door shutting beeping sound when the rear doors was closing anyway, which was even more weird 😂 So please, get this bus while you still can on routes 241 or 474. This bus is also one of the oldest double deckers in London.
