Don’t let the defensive talent take over and forget about the the offensive talent we got in these WRs. Guys like Ivan who’s a big physical down the field threat. Daniels who’s explosive that can turn a minimum gain of 3-5 yards to a 24+ gain once he gets the ball in his hands and who a deep threat with that speed. Zion who’s another speedster and elite route running that also has a lot of swag of making a few guys miss once he has the ball in his hands. I just can’t wait to these guys get into the system.

Riley had us so bad on d talent even bv couldn't fix it his first 2 years but like you say I'm sure it's coming and I can't wait to watch them and know before the game starts we don't have to worry bout the offense having a bad day cause the defense is gonna win it.

Danny O made his play look easy at that level of competition, so it was outstanding to see him level up and compete with elite talent. Nick Saben was correct in his assessment of Danny, he can definitely GO! Kudos to OU for closing on a series of difference makers, both on defense and offense. Future will be challenging, as well as bright 😎

As hyped as this D-Line class is, it all won't matter till we see them make plays. Guys like PJ were hyped up but just weren't quite there yet (He will be). The positive is that when you bring in a lot of talent the odds of at least one of them making an instant impact goes up. The mix of having DJ Terry and Lacey back help get those young lions in there even if it's only a handful of snaps. It's not even January and I'm optimistic that the defense will take that next jump into being a top 25-30ish overall defense. We start getting a pass rush, we can win 9-10 easily next year.

I think you are underselling it. I thought you guys would be top 25-top 50 this year in metrics that matter... I think you guys can be top 10-20 ish next year. With the kids you got and the training they are getting. I think Venables will need 1 more year (after next) to really solidify the defense with the scheme he wants and the players he wants and be back perennially in the top 10. Edit: and that is coming from a Texas fan that occasionally trolls you. 😂

Not only is BV and his staff recruiting at an extremely high level, they have established a culture where kids who join want to be apart of- where they feel they will get the tools they need to become the best they can be. This is critical if you want to keep players in the portal era. Just look at what happened to Texas A&M.

I love the grOUp of yOUng men that signed yesterday. I like the DL players they pulled but the diversity of position players pulled is awesome. If BV and company get these guys to their potential quickly it will only lead to more DL beasts lining up to join the program. There’s always gonna b the bag chasers, I love that OU is playing the game but ain’t having to buy every stud. The fact these players ignored the large bags and believed in what OU is abOUt and doing, shows they are the rt types of players.

I absolutely trust the BV approach. GREAT class and BV's way of doing things is perfect for OU. OU has $$$, but we do not have the $$$ to out bid. Oregon/aTm/UT/USC so we don't try. OU sells development and a good sold NIL program. That's the best way.

Awesome D line , I also think the O line class is pretty underrated, BB got some hungry talent, I’m excited about them, especially DA(can’t spell, or say it😂), Brooks, and EPL. The running backs are killer, tight end, wide receivers, etc. I’ve noticed BV hasn’t gone with a lot of power 5 in the portal, I’m thinking that’s smart, get the guys with the talent, WANTING to prove they belong . You know they evaluate the hell out of these guys, keeps you away from the guys at power 5 leaving for a reason, money, playing time. Not that they’re all like that, some just need a change. Anyway, great podcast, enjoy watching it.👍

What's cool is that guys like Stone and Okoye, and even some of our other players, are from Oklahoma. So it does slightly dampen the "you guys' players are from Texas" critique that we occasionally get from Texas fans. Lol Wish we could've done better in certain offensive positions though.
