I mean quads of those blitz astral formula and no repeat shades, preferably no neutrals or at least nothing too similar to what she’s already released. I want quads of pastels and duochromes. 😩 transformative shades you can’t get anywhere else.

As an artist quite new to make up collecting, beauty youtube etc. I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone would buy a pre-made neutral palette when singles like this exist. These videos of you playing with your singles are pure bliss and inspiration!

You buy pre-made because it's cheaper than getting singles. Singles are so expensive. Also, it's quite overwhelming as a non-MUA to have to pick out specific colors. There might be 50 just "white skintone" shades within one brand. And even her "singles" are a lot of depotted pre-made palettes, especially the mattes.

Singles cost 15-60, depending on brand, premade palettes cost 20-170, for usually 12-24 pans. It's cheaper, then you can depot and arrange your own which is exactly what the person in the video did, that you liked. Also singles of colours you like don't usually get released as singles, they become included in a palette so you would need to buy the palette

For me, two reasons. 1.) Color stories with complementary undertones, makes it less likely that you have a makeup fail 10 minutes before you have to leave for work. 2.) Travel. Singles do NOT travel.

😭 I 100% felt thee exact same way!!!!!! I pictured this holographic, pastel, duo chrome wonderland of like a new aged water color looking pallet! I envisioned soft pastels that had a futuristic color shift! Purples, violets, pinks, periwinkle, opalescent shimmers!!! I think those browns are really what threw me off. I swear taking the one tan shade and the brown on the bottom left out would change EVERYTHING!!! Now… I did watch two of her IG lives. One today and one yesterday and both looks were with very different color stories from the pallete and they both were gorgeous colorful whimsical looks so it kind of won me back! I just really need this dream pallete to be created now because I need it in existence!!! 💕🛼🍭💜🌈✨✨

This looks like a rehash of DR I & II with one interesting shade. I gave up and ordered a 9 pan Sydney Grace and to be fair, those blew the pmg out of the water. No matter what I do I can't get pmg to not crease on me, even with my most bulletproof primer, AND I had a really negative CS experience with them. Plus between 2 motherships and 3 of the 6 pans, I have SIX gold shades just in pmg. Come on. Movin' on.

At least for me, you can always get a work look out of a Mothership, usually a pretty spicy work look, but there is enough of a mix of finishes that you done have to get an overly eye catching look. Love SG, but her shimmers are so shimmery, that even with her neutral and light palettes, you always getting something that’s more eye catching, than flattering.

@@dinasourprincessparty Respect your opinion, but I wasn't really comparing finishes or color stories, but the way the shadows work for me, the constant rehash of duplicate shades, and the recent lack of edge that Pat was known for. I have 2 motherships, 3 six pans and returned the big mega palette. The mattes are patchy, difficult to work with, and the shimmers and special shades crease on me no matter what I do. The mega palette was one of the worst I've ever tried which is why I returned. I am not finding that with SG. I bought what a lot would probably consider a boring palette of SG singles, and I can easily get a day appropriate look out of them. I don't have any of her palettes, but have looked at the Temptalia On the Horizon pretty seriously and the Enduring Love and I can definitely see getting more muted looks out of them. I have seriously hooded eyes though so perhaps it is easier for me since most of my lid doesn't show until I blink. 😂

@@wildeflowers1348 Enduring Love and Tiny Marvel do a little better, but getting a work look out of any of the Temptalia collection is almost impossible. The shimmer shades are their usual thick shimmery-ness, the mid-tones are few and very bright shimmers, and the transition matte are all pretty deep, even for the light version. So every look you get is thickly shinny, dark, and colorful. Now it probably depends on you skin tone too, if you have a really deep complexion, the darkness of the palette won’t give tons of contrast, so it might not be as much. But mid to light complexions are going to have trouble. Formula wise, the biggest difference between the two, is that you can apply Pat’s lightly (and probably should) and sheer looks work well, even with her fairly deep color stories. SG shadows are pretty full on, so your not going to get an easy sheered out look.

The reveal saved me $125 haha I was like “oh no, I’m gonna be $125 poorer in a few weeks” when we saw the packaging and inspo photos…but then the inside was such a let down. It’s the equivalent of eating a delicious dessert and biting into it and finding out it’s a plastic display phony.

Was the same when I saw the promos, was let down seeing the palette when it was finally promoted. Honestly think that it’s her idea of colorful since these are shades she seems to include in a lot of previous palettes with the exception of her special shadows. What I think went wrong was that they worked on the design of the palette carton packaging and didn’t consider adding shades to match the majority of the colors on it

this release makes me so happy i went cruelty free and couldn’t get pat anymore. I think she sells the fantasy better than any brand I’ve ever seen but the more I started panic buying all her releases the more I noticed that there’s a ton of overlap and purchasing just for that one “special” shade. Don’t get me wrong…those shades ARE special but the saturation of generally similar neutrals almost makes her larger palettes harder to use. You always hit the nail on the head, Lauren!💖

I've never owned a single Pat McGrath palette. I do like some of her other releases. However, I was intrigued much like you with these visuals. It was like being in some type of holographic heavenly place that you wanna see how she can put that into an eyeshadow palette. I love eyeshadow more than anything in makeup.... but this was a flop. That last shade is stunning, but I'd not pay for a palette of overlapping shades just to get one 1 very stunning special shade. I truly do hope that Pat can somehow win us all over in a future release. It wasn't until recently that I noticed she puts duo and trio chromatic shades in her palettes.
