The METE line is named after *Mete Khan* (Modun Chanyu), the founder of the Xiongnu Empire (Chanyu Empire) in the eastern Eurasian Steppe which battled China over dominance in Inner Asia between the 1st century BCE and the 3rd century CE. Mete Khan is regarded as a legendary hero among Turkish military historians. _Mete_ is actually pronounced *Mété* or _Met-eh_ (The Century Arms press release said "Met-A" but the _A_ is pronounced like the English letter _A_ which many seem to have misinterpreted).

@han0509 Genghis Khan was born on 1155 AD. Mete Khan rose to power in 209 BC. When Mete Khan rose to power he organised 10.000 soliders as a "Tümen" (division) and then further divided it into smaller units, similar to the way modern armies do it.

@@frankammirati3385 yes I would wait to get the upgrades. For me it's all it is missing, and for like 100 bucks it's not enough money to make the sacrifice worth it. However if you're using this for a competition pistol I would go for it, you can buy a magwell and you'll get to be able to put a larger optic on it if you shoot Optics.

Without watching more than one second of this video I will assume this thing is awesome. Canik makes a hell of a pistol. We bought the base model TP9SF for under $300 right before the stuff hit the fan. Second best stock trigger I've ever pulled, crazy accurate too.

If they don't have it just ask, Im sure they can order it. It just means couple more days wait. No Im not a dealer nor do I work for one. Its just our brick and mortar stores are in trouble. And they're you local help line when you need it. A good gun Smith is worth the weight in gold.

I have had the TP9sf Elite for a year now it is such an enjoyable weapon to handle but the upgrades on the Mete are exactly what I’d want if I asked for any more. I had to run 350 rounds through it during my AZ armed guard qualifier and it performed amazingly there were a lot of people wanting to check it out after the class. Looks like I might have to sell my Elite for a METE.

I got the tp9sa when they 1st hit the US market for $200 new in box one of the best handguns for the value. Most people dont know but your canik mags will work in the walther ppq. I'm always impressed that Canik has gone through generational improvements that meet or exceed Glock's generational improvements in a fraction of the time. Nine years on the American market and they're right at the top. Glock has been in the American market for almost 40 years? And we're only good for a generational improvement every 8 years on average. I get that Glock has introduced more models of pistol in that length of time, but seriously?

Glocks look like they're stuck in the year 1980. Canik puts out a new design each year and it looks like its 3-years apart. The new models Canik has announced recently like the _SFX Rival_ and the _Sub Elite CAS_ look like they're from the year 2030. Look them up on Google Images and read about it.

Love them or hate them, they're not afraid of taking a piece of everyone's market. The simple facts is they're making competitive options for typically $100 less than Glock. I don't know where everyone is supposedly getting NIB gen 5's for $380 that they always talk about. Around my part of the country those always seem to be at the $599 mark. I will say Canik has moved well beyond the "just as good" territory and well into "excellent in their own right".

It's supposed to be the first integrated sight of this nature in a commercially-available gun. _CAS_ stands for "Canik Advance Sight System". The older _SAS_ that Sig released recently worked in daytime but not at night.

I have a canik tp9sfx. I have around 4000 rounds or so thru it. Other than when the recoil spring was breaking in on the first two mags I have not had any malfunctions. Just make sure if you run a red dot loc tight those threads. Great trigger also. I dig it.

Well I didn't wait on the NATO Spec 9mm to show up. Last Wednesday 7 Sept 22 I took my METE SFT out to the range and put one 18 round mag and one 20 round mag loaded with just plain ordinary 124gr FMJ and this pistol just ate the up. Loaded up a 18 round mag with plain ordinary 115gr FMJ and once again this pistol ate them up without any issues at all. I will say this pistol shoots better and feels better than my Glock 17. Glad my son talked me into getting the CANiK METE SFT. One thing I did notice with the CANiK is the day I bought it, the slide release was very difficult to move at all to release the slide. Once I put those rounds through it, the slide release gave up the ghost and works just fine now without having to break your thumbs off.

After shooting nearly everything, I settled on the Mete SFX... just an incredible shooter! That being said the first time I field stripped it (after firing 40 rounds), the trigger would not reset. FFL sent it back to Canik... their first in 2 years. Several of the instructors at my local range compete with Caniks. Curious if they send me a new one (or Rival!?). My first shot just playing around at 20 yards was a bullseye.

Great demo on this Canik mete. I like the sft model. This is my next dream 9mm pistol, with ready made stainless steel guide rod assembly, accurate, feeds any kind of bullets with different grains from other youtube videos I’ve watched, holds large capacity 20 round magazine + 1 round in chamber, reasonable price, easy to fieldstrip, more support in grip control, excellent trigger with super crisp/fast reset time, positive feedbacks from other youtube reviews, modern simple pistol, fires flawlessly, lighter to handle, nice two-tone design. It’s great for vehicle carry, owb carry, backpack carry, or with fanny pack carry. Great pistol for imminent danger defense with jhp and for range shooting with fmj/jhp.👍

I have the SF Elite and it is everything the reviews say it is, and after handling the METE it also appears to be everything you say it is so I decided to order one for myself. Should be here in 3-4 days. The featu res, ergonomics, trigger and reliability can't be touched at this price. It's also a fine looking gun, IMO. 5/2023 Update: YES! The METE was better than expected and I now have the SFT and SFX. The SFT is on my hip 10 hours a day. I never leave home without it.
