✨Soothing Book Binding - Making a Custom Leather Crystal Grimoire✨

Join me again for another pleasant time as I make this custom black alligator-patterned authentic crystal leather book with cotton handmade paper with hand-pressed flowers. It was a treat to create and I wished to share it with you!
The client wished for white handmade paper with flower-pressed paper interspersed within. See all of the steps come together for a final product that I think was a beautiful concept.

I made a press similar to your wood one that I use to press my flowers. You can use pieces of corrugated cardboard and paper then sandwich the flowers between two papers and place 1 piece of cardboard between each set of papers. It works really well. Also the press is easier to open if you use wing nuts.

Oooooh that's a good idea- the parchment paper was just what I had onhand 😂 and oh boy yeah, I make jokes about my presses all the time- these are my old ones and they've since been upgraded lmao

You never show how you make the cover and spine, like which kind of wood or chipboard you use and how exactly you curve the spine. Also, do you know why some people hammer the spine into a curve? I've never seen the point.

I have a couple videos that I've edited that are lined up that I have to upload, but after those are out I can address and show those things more in depth in the video after those! They're just not as easy to film and not as interesting, but I can definitely go into how I do those parts of the process in a few videos from now!
