Sooty Heights S02E07 - Too Many Cooks

The hotel is to be judged for the prestigious Golden Egg award and Mrs Frumpton arrives for the assessment. Richard makes a stew (his aunt's recipe) and leaves it to simmer all day. Lianda draws up a rota which allows everyone to add their favourite things to the stew. Mrs Frumpton is not impressed by the staff, nor Lianda who seems to be trying to pinch her hat. When she tastes the stew, thanks to Sooty's magical help, she awards the Gold Eggs placque, but with conditions attached. Namely that Richard changes his staff. He decides his team are worth more than the award and gives it back.

Aw Richard is so sweet, he kept his security blanket a la Linus from Peanuts from a kid, and still got comfort from it. Hes very comforting, like a soothing blanket himself!

I wonder what the programme would be like if it had continued with Liana and Richard's double act. It's almost like the old Harry and Matthew double act from the late 70s, when Matthew only just began presenting segments, him being the clumsy, childlike buffoon, whilst Harry played the straight man sidekick he always was. Exactly the same here with Liana and Richard, the latter being the childlike character whilst the former was the more laid back character.

Soo, Sweep & Scampi were all to blame for ruining Richard's Stew here, lucky for them it was Richard & not Gordon Ramsay, otherwise they might've been treated like the useless contestants were in Hell's Kitchen Soo, Sweep & Scampi probably would've been sent up to their room in Floods Of Tears with Richard angrily shouting how useless & stupid the 3 of them were And Soo, Sweep & Scampi would all have tears spurting out of their eyes like water fountains
