And a woman. She must be 10x better than men in this organ world to receive recognition that she does.

She is the most powerful organist I've seen and the very reason I finally bought a a keyboard & pedal board and started to practice the organ (I find it suits me so much better than the piano...). Thank you Vidas for this interview - it's so rare to see her talk about all these things, especially in English (her accent is adorable!:)

Yes, it was very nice to meet her in Vilnius back in the day. I wonder how is she playing now under the conditions of quarantine...
@glasss19784 жыл бұрын
@@SecretsofOrganPlaying I guess she keeps teaching online at Royal College, and just practicing at home till Sulpice opens and concerts allowed. I imagine her learning a bunch of new repertoire, and I keep hoping she would start composing at last, but she probably doesn't. :) Have you thought of asking around how organists try to turn this unusual time to their advantage?

glasss1978 I wish she would record more. As a matter of fact my last podcast interview is about organists’ life during quarantine: www.organduo.lt/home/sopp583-crista-miller-on-organists-life-during-quarantine

@@SecretsofOrganPlaying yes, she has such a unique gift, it's a terrible shame it's not recorded more and no online masterclasses etc. Thank you, I'll listen to your podcast.

Tragic to interview this elegant, gifted woman in a noisy kitchen .......groan

Personally I like it. Nowhere more appropriate to interview a French woman than in a beautiful café/restaurant. :) There's something relaxed and personal about interviews like these.
