Us too. I went down with a virus, ended up on antibiotics. Took 5 weeks to feel better. A week later…..sore throat and cold. You have my sympathy

We’ve had the same bug circulating our house the last month and a half. My daughter had it twice,me and then her dad got it too. Hope it’s all gone in time to enjoy Christmas.

Hey, so pleased you loved York. I live in Harrogate and have enjoyed visiting York all my life. We were just there a week a go too. Also so many stunning places around York, like Helmsley, Pickering and Castle Howard. But I agree York has the shops, cafes, museums, galleries and the people are nice too. We visited Pyramid Gallery / jewellers and Lots of charity shops too, so many.. xx

Yes yes yes to play kitchen! Orin will love it! I got one 2nd hand for my little girl when she was 2 and a bit and shes constantly played with it. She's now 3 years 8 months and this year we are just updating some of the play food in it for her Xmas 🤫🎅 Lidl has a lot in their middle aisle at the moment and you can get some great sets on Amazon too. We've also got her the Melissa and Doug ice cream parlour because she loves ice cream. All the wooden toys this year 😂 York looked amazing! The shopping streets looked like Diagon Alley in Harry Potter! 😍 That is now on my list of places to visit.

Yaaaay this has made me even happier of our choice with a play kitchen! 😍😍 I'll keep an eye out for the bits in Lidl! I love the look of that ice cream parlour 😆 looks fab! Funny you should mention Diagon Alley, because apparently that's exactly what the book has based it on, the Shambles streets in York!!👏☺️♥️♥️

York is one my favourite UK cities anytime of the year. Hope you all had a great time. I know what you mean about the Yorkshire pudding wrap shop. It's abit of a gimmick tourist thing. Atleast you know not to go back. Tha Shambles Kitchen is amazing. I always go and never disappointed.

Hi Sophie I think I went to York some years ago with my parents as a child, and the place looked familiar, I would love to go back 1 year, i would love to go this time of the year, but may not be next year depending on my radiotherapy treatment and whether I get sick with it as I was diagnosed with cancer earlier in the year i was only telling my daughter yesterday when i was a child we had a pillow case as a sack with one gift some sweets a book and apple and an orange at Christmas. The gift looks amazing i think sometimes it pays to get something pricey if it will last much longer. love to all. xxx

I love York, but it must be over 20 years since I visited. One Saturday we found a cake shop that also did meals. Here (near Liverpool) that would typically mean pie/sausage roll, chips, beans etc. In York it meant a delicious roast beef dinner. Why can't more town centre cafes do that?

I know you say how expensive that toy play set, but my generation was, spend as much as you can for something that will last! My children played with toys my mother brought when me and my siblings were young. Think of it as an investment, especially if you are buying for your first born. Then it goes down to siblings and across to their little cousins :)
