All you have to do to make your celery crisp again is to clean it up and put it in a glass of cold water. The cabbage can be cleaned up from just cutting off the discolored part, then shred up the pretty part and placing it in cold water. Then you can make a freezer slaw out of it. Then, whenever you want slaw you can pull some out.

I’m currently going thru my freezers and cupboards. Just bought a load of storage jars to decant open packets of items like cous cous and pasta. It looks so much better, and I’ve listed everything and taken a photo of the list, so it will help me when I’m shopping.. I live alone, so I have far too much food.. it’s such a therapeutic thing to do.

You can keep lemons in a glass jar covered in water in the fridge they keep fresh for 3 months . I wrap my celery in 2 sheets of kitchen paper in its wrapper & it lasts a month . I put kitchen paper in with carrots, spinach, salad leaves & they last a lot longer , you can put bendy celery & carrots in a pint glass of water for an hour & they will firm up again . X

Hi Sophie, another great video. Some thoughts as I watched, like you I LOVE Stokes original BBQ Sauce and buy it direct from them online (they also do a selection if you want to try different ones, the original is my fave though), we also keep the sachets of things from Hello Fresh and Gousto and use what we already have. I never used to like lemon curd (nowhere near lemony enough, too sweet) but hubby loves it, so I found a gorgeous recipe for making it, and it is miles from the shop-bought stuff - unrecognisable - and it's lovely and tangy and I now LOVE it (but still wouldn't buy it). I could give you the recipe if you'd like to try. Finally, I buy balsamic vinegar online by the 5ltr containers (so much cheaper that way, and lasts forever) and then I make my own balsamic glaze too (you just boil and boil it until it is reduced and as thick as you'd like and put it into empty jam jars (I keep old jars because I also make my own microwave jam and caramel sauce . . . so good too.) As always TFS,👍 keep well. Love ❤

To reduce clutter with things in the frig put them in smaller containers and label with dates and what they are. Unsealed items will go bad and pick up taste from other items.

Hey Sophie! Loving this new challenge. I've done the same thing and was shocked at the quantity of food I have in freezer/fridge/pantry. I tip I was given, which has helped with fruit and veg in the fridge, is to remove all packaging and put them into brown paper bags. It def helps them stay fresher for longer. Looking forward to part 3 👍

I would make a pesto, corn and fresh tomato pizza with the leftover corn. Use pesto as the sauce base, layer with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, then corn, then grape tomatoes cut in half. Sprinkle with little sugar to bring out sweetness of corn and cut any tartness of tomatoes. Bake in oven like any other pizza. Great for a meatless meal. Use some of you ketchup for a homemade barbecue sauce for pulled pork sandwiches. Use some of mustard to make Italian pork chops. Use some ingredients to make marinades for protein products and freeze until ready to use. This could turn into something you might want to show others how you clean out the refrigerator and use all of these items up.😊

I always take veg, fruit and fridge stuff out of the plastic packaging as it makes it last so much longer. Pesto doesn't last long at all in the fridge, I've thrown away so much as it just immediately goes mouldy. I am also guilty of hoarding random condiments and sauces. I don't know if you're supposed to but I decanted two half jars of cranberry into one and also the same with salsa.

Just looking at the yogurt situation, I think a lot of your food waste would be helped just by finishing one thing before opening another. There's no need for 4 yogurts to be opened at the same time. You also need to stop buying stuff just because it's on offer. If you don't need it you're not actually saving money buying it no matter how cheap it is.
