I think she does change how she delivers her voice depending on the character she's interpreting. Her performance here is more similar to her single "Toys" than in Beetlejuice.

Definitely. And it totally makes sense. I feel like Lydia would have a more rock raspy voice then a pretty sweet voice. I always got mad when people said she has a bad voice bc they don’t understand what she was really doing

She did Lazarus before Beetlejuice, so she definitely had the technique in Beetlejuice, she was just doing different things with her voice. You already hear that she was starting to go towards that style. Can't wait for her voice to blossom even more.

I stumbled into this video before I knew she was in Beetlejuice. I was impressed with her voice back then and this song seems to be right in her sweet spot. Bowie was still alive when this show was done, and I think I read somewhere that he personally requested she sing this. She has a great voice, very pingy and a great vibrato. It's more impressive knowing she was only 15 at the time this was done. I dont know many 15 year olds with the courage charisma and skill to pull this off. I don't know what happened at Beetlejuice, she departed suddenly, I hope it has'nt soured her towards theater. Doing a Broadway show is a meat grinder, and I can easily see how she could decide to move on, but she is so talented that I hope she returns someday.

She did Lazarus before Bettlejuice. She started Beetlejuice when she was 15, think she did this when she was 12/13. She is method and changes her voice depending on the character she is portraying and how she thinks they would sing. ❤️

Yes!! I've always wondered what a professional would think of how they wrote those parts for the actors based on their ability. Like Spike, Giles, and Tara might not be the best but clearly have some talent, but no one sounds really terrible despite none of them being singers. It's interesting that it's not a musical but the parts were written for those actors with varying ranges of ability.

They really need to make it so that the proshot for Lazarus is available somehow. Even if it's a pricey digital download or something, I _know_ there's an audience for it just going unnoticed! I was fortunate enough to get a digital ticket for the showing they had to commemorate 5 years since David Bowie's death, and it saddens me deeply that I won't get to experience the whole show again any time soon! It's a real good time, and everyone's real good at their parts. Sophia Anne Caruso's version of Life on Mars is my favorite cover of the song I've ever heard! I can ramble about this show for _hours,_ but I'll spare you all the rest. If you can find any of the other numbers (especially "Killing A Little Time") in full, I encourage you to watch them. The effects are stunning, and even the people in the cast you don't think would be able to sing well totally rock it.

You should check out AURORA, her voice is divine and her live preformances are mesmerizing. Both her original songs and covers sound amazing. Personally I would recommend: "it happened quiet" live at Nidarosdomen, "infections of a different kind" live at the HAIK concert or any live versions of "Warrior".
