SOPHIA FLOERSCH - 1st round of the FIA WEC in SPA w/ Richard Mille Racing | LMP2 | 2021

First race of season 2021 for me 🏁🏁. Everything started in Spa - Francorchamps (Belgium) with the first round of the FIA WEC (World Endurance Championship).
Similar to last year I am doing a double program again with DTM and FIA WEC. In the endurance championship I am racing for Richard Mille Racing together with two female team mates Tatiana Calderon and Beitske Visser.
In total we spent seven days in Spa, as we had two official test days there Monday / Tuesday. Those ones were called Prologue. The race weekend itself has three free practice sessions, one qualifying and one race. In Spa we had a 6h race, starting at 1:30 pm on Saturday afternoon.
Last year we were competing in the ELMS with Richard Mille racing. That’s the European Le Mans Series. But 2021 we kind of stepped up to a world championship. There is nothing higher in endurance racing. And it’s actually the first time for me competing in a FIA world championship.
Our calendar has six different race weekends. It started off in Belgium, next will be Portimao (Portugal), then Monza (Italy), Le Mans (France), Fuji (Japan) and last but not least Bahrain.
For us Le Mans will be the biggest race again. It’s also the biggest Motorsport Event with a 24h race. We’ve competed there already last season and finished P9 in our LMP2 class. It was amazing.
Spa itself went better for us then expected. As we didn’t really have any preparation compared to other teams, we still kind of did the best out of it. With our P8 finish we achieved good points for the championship. But just watch the video to find out how everything went. :)

As a 61 year old man...I am not part of the crowd that thinks women shouldn't push through I lived it. I am US Air Force retired and I trained women fighter pilots in the F-16....not a matter of if they can do it ...its a matter of do they want to...This is the mistake that is made about women pushing through .....they have to want it....earn it just like men there is not difference......Today we say women need more opportunity they don't ........they just need to want to do it......that simple...........

Hi Sophia, a very nice vlog of the WEC race. 👌🏼 Please include the technical differences of the cars in a next vlog. And it maybe also would be nice to show the other girls/drivers in the vlog. It’s a team effort after all and you girls did a great job at Spa! 👍🏼 Oh and just one minor thing…please stop slamming the camera after each recording.
