Sophia Loren at the Academy Museum

I was there. That speech was just as beautiful as she is. She was also there the next night for "The Life Ahead" and gave another wonderful speech. I feel very privileged to have been there both nights. On the second night, I just happened to be standing where they were helping her out of the auditorium. I extended my hand and she took it, stopped, and looked at me deeply in the eyes as I muttered some words of affection to her. For the rest of my life I can say, "I held hands with Sophia Loren." I was almost brought to tears.

Is she no longer walking very well?

She held on tightly to her son with both hands to be able to very slowly walk. When she held my hand, she still held onto him with the other.
