when i was 12 like you i wanted to start dancing but i thought i had missed my opportunity. i'm 16 now and 6 months ago i realized it doesn't matter; dancing is about enjoying yourself and the art, so i started a ballet class. i'm en pointe now, dancing 6 hrs a wk and i'm so glad i started! but when i think back to when i was your age and felt like i couldn't start, i'm so upset that i didn't because imagine all the progress i missed in those years. dance is hard but you will not regret trying!!

I've started at 33 years old! when I was a child my mother didn't send me! For many years I tought It was too late. And I have started as an adult to do modern jazz...the day I decided that I can do everything It makes me happy , not something I can do absolutely well, as I dreamed! And dancing make me happy! i think this little girl is one of the best dancers i know, she has such a natural talent. Just by watching her dance brings tear to my eyes. Not only is she a natural she works extremely well........however i think Abby from dance mom pushes her and her talents comes out more on that show, Abby pushes her. keep working hard kiddo wish you all the best in the future

You have to remember that she's 9 years old, so her tricks will be all she knows for now, like most other young dancers. She'll be only just learning and practicing the grown up advanced stuff. Give her a year or two and you'll see. Already seen some here, and love her little smile at the end! :)

I started ballet when I was 15. I discovered the dance world "too late", but I never stopped thinking about how wonderful it would be to follow my dream! Of course I'm not a great dancer such as many other girls out there, and now with almost 18 I'm glad that I started ballet as early as I could! Never give up! PS: The fact that I was years older than the other girls on class made me work harder and show them that I could be better than them. haha PS 2: Misty Copeland started with 13!

Tokyo's choreography is indeed very distinct but, in my opinion, it is ultimately up to the dancer performing the solo to make it their own. Even if two dancers are given the exact same solo, the choreography can look completely different depending on how each dancer interprets and performs it. I think both Sophia and Tokyo did an amazing job!

I know how you feel. I have been dancing since 2nd grade and I did a recreational, just for fun class. this year I wanted to do the competition team, and it didn't work out. I was pulled out of every routine except for 1. I left the studio out of embarrasment and went to another studio, and now I'm taking a hip hop class and a ballet class at my new studio, and I feel like I started too late (I'm 13) to get good enough training to be amazing.

I think that Maddie, Chloe, and the other girls from Dance Moms are amazing, but so is Sophia Lucia. They all demonstrate different qualities in their dances. For instance, Maddie conveys the emotions in her face and she is a performer, while Chloe is a more technical dancer. Sophia Lucia shows emotions through the power of her dance moves. They are seriously all great dancers, so stop comparing how they dance because every person is different.

Sofia is amazing she is a choreographers "Dream".. As a dance teacher having a student that loves what they do and it shines thru her dance is amazing. I would love to work with Sofia. and i agree. it is definently up to the dancer to make it their own. i have learned this art from dancing myself but it doesnt change the fact that the choreography has little variation and thats just my opinion.
