This is what one considers a prodigy. Her turns, technique, jumps all look effortless and are pretty much flawless at age 9. Her technique is stonger than most professional, working dancers and she can certainly do more tricks and turns. It's not fair to compare other child dancers to her. It's like comparing professional pianists to Beethoven. Her technique is almost flawless.

By FAR, best song, choreography, and presentation of hers I've seen. Largely because it's finalky age-appropriate, and something she can authentically interpret vs just play act. What an extraordinary difference in final product. She's finally dancing artfully vs performing tricks. Lovely.

I think everyone needs to realize that turns and extensions are part of dancing. Ultimately every dancer wants their dance to be amazing and Sophia's choreography showcases what she's best at. people need to get over the fact that choreographers put what the dancer does best into their routines to make them well executed which in her case are turns and extensions.

What I find most extraordinary about her dancing is her pirouettes. She can do 100 of them, there are in another video. I just love that she doesn't just turn the entire length of the routine. She shows off the other aspects of her dancing. I really respect that.

Well, if she wishes to pursue dance as a career, which I'm almost positive she does, she WILL absolutely need to connect with the audience. I don't know how much you know about what goes on behind the judges' table-so in that respect, I will not comment, but the dancers' current and previous reputation is VERY crucial while making decisions. It even shows on most scoring sheets on how an emotional connection is worth up to twenty-five points. THANK YOU VERY MUCH

She's flawless! One of my favorite dances of all time! She is so beautiful & graceful! She puts so much emotion and personality into it. She could use another choreographer but you all need to stop talking so much crap on Mark Meismer. This Dance was put in 2012 Hall Of Fame. That definitely means it a gorgeous dance. Beautiful Job!

She is technically an amazing dancer. Her turns and flexibility are fantastic, but I think this song was a bit too mature for her. Then again, I refer back to Melanie and Marco from SYTYCD with this song, and they were so incredible in depicting the music that a child trying to do it justice would be a difficult feat to achieve. It's not that she isn't a good dancer, but there needs to be more dancing than just turns, jumps and flexibility (not her fault it was choreographed this way), and she just needs to be a bit older to connect to this type of music. She is going to be an incredible performer in a few years though, I have no doubts about that.

Dance with tricks and turns usually are the ones who get great scores in competitions. If dancers just walked around the stage with "emotion" then that wouldn't win a competition

***** Ballet isn't trick after trick after trick. I understand that because this is a competition that is is more about athleticism, but I really do enjoy the gracefulness and artistry of non competitive choreography. I in fact, love ballet, and take part in it my self. It usually tells a story or sends a message, and I feel that this dance lacks that. But none the less, she is an INCREDIBLE dancer.

I think Sophia is a beautiful dancer. Her lines are gorgeous, her technique is impeccable, she has an amazing center to be able to turn the way she does and she is physically stunning. She is performing the tricks that are current and any competition dancer strives to learn. My only critique is that a lot of her solos look the same. I would like to see more variation in the style/choreography. I also feel like she lacks true/raw emotion. If you watch her in different solos without the music you do not get a story from her performance... She could be dancing to any lyrical song. Don't get me wrong, I bet she scores amazingly well at competitions and she had nice "competition" faces, but she has to grow beyond that. I think in due time and with maturity she will developed this. However she is an inspiration for young dancers and you can see all the hard work she puts into her dancing.

I agree completely! She lacks telling a story but not just with her face as most people would think. But with her body. In sad songs she doesnt have the tension in her body that tells us she is struggling. Or when she does a happy song she needs to move more freely and gracefully. But she is an amazing dancer. Way better than me anyway!

Her turns are magnificent and her extensions and jumps are stunning, but you can tell that it is just her body dancing and her soul is detached. A truly wonderful dancer should be able to captivate and entertain an audience while simply standing motionless.

Here's a message for everyone who loves Sophia and wishes they had her fluidity and her awe-inspiring skills. Here's a secret: she didn't get like that overnight. As talented as Sophia is, she had to work constantly to get where she is today. Heck, she doesn't even go to public school, I don't think. She has to make sacrifices for this, including her time. But if dancing is your passion, get up, get off the computer and go for it.
