Iconic video, massively nostalgic song. Sophie actually came up with the idea of the video when she saw "They Shoot Horses Don't They?". That film is about a dance marathon contest where the last couple standing win a cash prize. I remember she posted about it on Facebook quite recently, citing her inspiration and giving credit to the team that helped make this brilliant video a reality.

I love how not only the song is tied to Saltburn but the video as well. She reigned victorious after literally taking down each opponent. That is insane to me. It could be total coincidence but it feels almost as if the whole film is a sort of homage, or at least inspired by the song which is so incredible. Either way, a BRILLIANT use of song in a film. Dare I say, one of the best I've seen. Though I've always known the song, I have a new appreciation and love for it especially after seeing the video. I'm having such a great time diving into the rest of Sophie's music. I highly recommend all to do the same if you haven't already!

But op is acting like Americans deliberately slept on this when it was never even brought to the table 💀 you can’t enjoy something you aren’t aware exists. Plus KZbin and other streaming services weren’t what they are now, back then… we have algorithms now that can push forward other content that matches what you listen to. The use of GD in the lyrics didn’t help its case for radio play. The US is deeply puritanical and usage of foul language was just not accepted in female pop music. The ones who used it in their songs, didn’t get to experience the same level of success. Not even Madonna could get away with cussing in music. It’s a different story after 2003.

There's just something about the added "STOMP" in the music video that makes the song more enjoyable
