So enjoyed this! Thank you. Watching this from “across the pond” thanks to a heads up from my Nonsuch dulcimer friends in the UK.

Dear Ms. Matthews I play a few bagpipes and am looking to learn the Musette De Cour I have looked at Mr. Beekhuizens models and I am wondering if I were to purchase a set how I would learn to play. Now do you own two Musettes, and If so which one do you prefer more; what was the cost of your Musette from Mr. Troyen. I have seen on his Facebook page that he has made a practice chanter for the Musette, as well as a practice set; do you think these would be good investments? Sorry for all of the question, but I have one more how did you get in touch with the Master of Musettes himself, and how would I go about contacting him for some questions.

I think that Paul Beekhuizen has retired from making musettes now. I did start with a set from Paul, but sold them when my new set from Bart arrived. My musette from Bart Van Troyen was €8,500 just for the pipes (bellows separately) and at the time I ordered them it was a 2 year waiting list. The student musette is certainly quicker and cheaper, but it is far more limited than the full one. I don't know what Bart's charges or waiting lists are now, but his website is www.musettesociety.com and I can't recommend his instruments highly enough. My musette is a joy to play.

@@GreenMatthews Thank you very much, you have done me a great favor. Do you think that you might teach the Musette De Cour to me if I were to purchase a set? Also were did you acquire your Crumhorns? A teacher at my school used to play when he studied abroad in Austria. Do you know if Paul has fully retired yet? I have been thinking of forming a Medieval/Renaissance/Baroque Consort, as some of the teachers played in some throughout their schooling years.

@@gunnarmelson2264 My crumhorns are by Eric Moulder. I'm afraid I don't teach. Bart does do some teaching and so does Birgit Bornauw - www.macke-bornauw.com I also haven't spoken to Paul in years, so I'm afraid I don't know what he might be offering now.
