“To Save the World” is officially out now. When I wrote this song, I was feeling overwhelmed by the news and all the bad things happening in the world. I could feel how emotional I was getting while watching it all, and I wished I could do something to help. I was thinking that if all it took was someone to care, I would be the one to save the world because that’s how intense the feeling was. I was wishing that how I was feeling could translate to saving other people who are going through so much hardship and pain. As I was writing this song, I was thinking about all the songs I write and that I get so many messages every day from people telling me how much my songs help them. They say that they feel like I’m putting into words exactly how they are feeling, and it makes them feel so much better. I thought, maybe caring really could help people? Maybe it’s true that me and anyone who cares so deeply can help the world in some way by doing something from the heart. For me, that’s writing songs. Hi Sophie --- just woke up ... and wow my day just got a whole lot brighter because you are on my screen again 🥰 It's been too long. I love what you have written below. There are so many people who see what is going on in the world and how some human beings treat each other... and they don't feel anything. I feel exactly the same way as you do when I see the pain and suffering. I remember back near the start of the terrible war in Ukraine I saw a photo of a 10 year old girl called Polina - she was full of life and dreams of the future, pink hair, sparkling eyes, beautiful smile. She was shot and killed along with her parents in their family car just driving along. Her young brother survived that day but I'm not sure if he recovered. How can anyone see or hear about something like that and not cry? I will never get her face out of my mind and I won't forget she existed. And so many things continue to happen in so many parts of the world. Yes there are good things that happen too and there are acts of kindness and selflessness ... it hardly ever makes 'great headlines' though 😢 Sophie I have commented in the past that you, young lady, are a beautiful human being... inside and out. You really are. This is why I love your music and follow you - there is such a tight bond in you between your soul and your emotions and the way you express that creatively through your songs. It is truly a privilege and a joy to listen to you and watch you sing. I love your honesty and the fact that you are never afraid to share your feelings. You definitely DO help people and line by line your music does change the world. Small things do matter. Never doubt Sophie that you embody love and caring and all that is good about life... and while there are people like you things can change. THE SONG IS AMAZING!!!!! You were so right, it isn't like your regular songs and it's not that much like 7th Grade so thankfully it won't hurt as much when I listen to it. I was right though, the song is very ambitious and it exceeds. I'm so proud of you! The song makes me emotional but not in a depressing or sad way this time but in a "how-can-I-help" way and I feel like I can't so I just feel helpless, I feel like I can't help anyone but I can at least try. The world really does need this song right now considering everything that's happening and honestly I do agree with you and think this could be in a movie but instead of at the end I think it would fit much better just before the climax.
