Hi Sophie, I just came across your video as I'm about to be made unemployed soon and was shocked to learn that the payment was only £324 per month, this wouldn't even cover my mortgage which I will have to pay out of my savings. By the time I've cut my fixed expenses down to the bare bones I'll probably be left with about £100 for discretionary spending including food shopping so I'm looking at a budge of around £2 per day for food. Keep your fingers crossed for me, lol.

As someone has already mentioned if you can live without meat lentils and legumes are a lot cheaper and have as much protein. I appreciate it's not for everyone. Even thought I'm not a vegan I get a lot of veg ideas from vegan channels. Apparently Asda are bringing out a new wide ranging budget range from May.

I find Lidl washing up liquid is not that great, I will have to experiment with other brands to see which is the best for the money.

No,you are right it's awful now they've changed it. Aldi's one is still good though but again it's changed slightly. Maybe try it though.

Been looking for something like this, as most people who post who do budget shops do it just for a challenge. Just subbed, as I would love to see more realistic videos like this. I am in a similar situation budget wise; but can omit meat/eggs/dairy; so that cuts costs down a bit. Did you already have breakfast in? Also, be good for you to show us what kind of meals you normally eat or think you might eat with what you have bought. Merely because I like to see how other people do it.

Hey Sophie, just came across your video, If you have an Aldi near by they sell 24 toilet rolls for around £6 this usually lasts about 3-4 weeks and would work out cheaper in the long run for you. Also its better quality than Asda smartprice.
@sheenamaclean8324
@sheenamaclean8324 2 жыл бұрын
Blimey, I would imagine 24 rolls should last about 5 or six months for s single person, what are you doing with it!!

Great look at what you could get at Asda. I go between Tesco,Lidl,Aldi & Home Bargains. I write down my spending every time to keep a check on what I’ve spent. Minimum budget so have to be careful. Happy bargain hunting.🤗🛒💐

Question about Toilet Paper :) I tend to get the more expensive T.P. - is the cheap stuff as super thin and stingy as it used to be (going back 15-20 years here) or have they improved on it?

Everyone likes a bargain. Some of it is ok , but some of it is full of sugar the squash and fizzy drinks are loaded with sugar if it’s not it’s probably fructose which is as bad . Tinned food is also packed with sugar and salt .

I do not know how you can save money on universal credit Lol I was on U/C a few years ago and I live on my own too but had £3.00 left over per month and that was for bus fares for interviews. this was in 2016 and with the cost of living now how can you save each month ?
