I too discovered Boehme’s books when I was 22/23. That was in the early '80s, and have always retained an interest in him ever since. There was a university book reprinting company back then, in the early '80s, that had reprinted the best 4 volume edition of his complete works, but it was listed for $5,000.00 USD, back in '83. Imagine that!! Today, an early 19th century edition of his works, in good condition, sells for about $20k USD. Insane! I wish I had paid the $5k back in '83. If I ever win the lottery, one of my first acquisitions would be a very fine quality antiquarian set of his works; and perhaps I would even commission a brand new edition, with extensive notes from the unpublished writings of Dionysius Andreas Freher. Freher's unpublished manuscripts also deserve to be edited and published as a complete set. What a shame it is for them not to have been published in their entirety by now.

Back in the 80s I held a 17th century1st English edition (Sparrow translation) of one of the volumes (I forget which one). I think it was priced at around $500. What I wouldn't give for something like that now!

Wow so loved this thank you. I have felt drawn to Boehme in my twenties too and couldn't make sense. And again I felt drawn and found this. Everything you shared makes sense deeply lightly profoundly and joyously.

I've run across someone who said that the "rib" incident is a mistranslation. The same Hebrew word means "to split." So, God split Adam into two equal parts. Male and female. Anima and animus. Eve is not subordinate to Adam, in that Adam came first. Eve and Adam are the same original being, split into two parts.

So we’ve recently found out that the entire plot of the massively popular video game “Destiny 2” is base on Boehme’s philosophy.

I got introduced to Martinism and René Guenon; now Böhme. Thank you! What do you think of occult groups like Martinism? I consider the Catholic Church and the eastern rite.

Personally, I try to stay away from "occult groups," but they seem to have served a purpose, especially in the 19th and early 20th centuries; and they certainly helped keep alive currents of what I would call pre-Reformation Catholic culture. And I can't complain about that!

Alright, thank you! Strange events happened in my life and I got the impression that the person who wanted me to become initiated was against christianity.
