The fact they programmed this one specific end gate so that the player can jump over it is kinda hilarious to me. They could have just left it at being able to walk under, but they went the extra step. And good on Sora for figuring it out straight away.

You can actually walk under it. Instead of taking the vine plant up to that platform you can fly from the lower platform

@@Dorian_Scott You can, you just have to be offscreen for those. This one was specifically set up to let you do it without being off-screen.

There’s another one where you have to fly under as well I believe and it’s rather hard to time the dive correctly. It has a lot of saws and ropes on rails.

I never would have guessed just a slow cape jump from there would pull that off. That feels like a Must Fly lol

Yeah, that is a *_really_* trollish exit. Normally, you're supposed to fly underneath the 1st gate and get to the hidden one (0:59) or alternatively use that Blue Koopa if you have Yoshi). I never knew that you could just jump over it like this (2:16) because every other gate in the game doesn't behave like that.

You don't even need the blue koopa if you have Yoshi, you can just mid-air jump off Yoshi after you've already jumped, and land on the upper platform behind the goalpost. Also, you can go over (nearly) every other gate in the game, you just have to be reasonably far off the top of the screen. There are a couple levels with 1-ups behind the gate that normally troll you by turning into coins, flying over the top of the level is how you can get them.

Odd… I thought the Forest of Illusion levels were over? What’s with this “Mandatory Secret Exit” chicanery? Also, I had no idea you could jump OVER the Giant Gate in Chocolate Island 3. Whenever I played this level, I used the cape to fly up from UNDER the gate’s platform. I assumed that’s what the arrow sign was for.
