🤩🤩🤩 Woah you’re right! The song feels even more deep with meaning because of those implications. The anime OP only plays the first half of the song so it was focused in Noé’s POV even if the OP had both Vanitas and Noé walking around Paris. But now the we get the whole song, it feels like an even more fitting song since it sort of describes both the main characters perfectly which is sad 😭😭😭cause they both so tragic yet amazing at the same time. I love them both and they deserve hugs btw. 😭😭😭The title of the song feels even more poetic. Sora to Utsuro translates to sky and void/emptiness/hollow. Not an expert of nihonggo but in Japanese kanji Sky can be written with the kanji for void as well but the songwriter uses different characters that are also pronounced differently to differentiate them. I interpret this as how Vanitas and Noé are so similar but complete opposites all the same. Like the sky can be associated with freedom, vastness, or lightness while the Emptiness for a person is a heavy feelings since they share no attachments, and maybe feeling lost. Gah! I love this anime all the more because of the combination of songs and visual is so breathtakingly beautiful.😍😍😍

I didn't know the mangaka-san was actually Mochizuki-sensei. Remembering Pandora Hearts... For the Vanitas fans, I really hope they're prepared for the surprise after surprise that will be in it for them. As for me. SPOILERS AHEAD, READ AT OWN RISK! I'm not going to lie, I thought this song was in Noe's point of view and the closing song was in Vanitas', but the more I look at the MV and then read the lyrics, I'm ALMOST certain this opening is actually in Vanitas' point of view and the closing song is actually Noe's point of view. In the MV, Noe is ALWAYS bright and gleaming and I think it is referring to, "I love this world and the light only you give me," at 0:54. It's making me convinced that Vanitas sees Noe as one of the only good things in the world for him. The quote, "everything seems so laughable," at 2:15 just matches Vanitas way more than Noe. Furthermore, the music video can make it seem like this is in Noe's point of view because of how excited Noe is and with everything being bright, but I really feel like this song was written to be in Vanitas' point of view. The lyrics just point to him and matches him more especially at 0:26- 1:15 (actually referring to Vanitas himself being hurt and how he was being treated under Dr. Moreau's experiments, to how he probably didn't know how to live after being rescued [and then becoming linked to the Vampire of the blue moon, but das a different story], meeting Noe and Noe's friendship giving him life, literally + Vanitas doesn't like to speak about his feelings, so him saying, "no need to say 'just the two of us' or anything," would match him his thought process more than Noe, who is very expressive and blunt about his feelings). Additionally, in the music video, we see Noe a lot. From the parts that we see only Noe, it's possible that we're watching from Vanitas' point of view and well,... The names of every character are exceptionally important.
