KRUNKER IS SHUTTING DOWN?!

It's not the abrupt ending that some were expecting, but it's essentially still the game being sunsetted due to io not being financially sustainable with it's current team. Comp, maps, scripting updates, and skins are all totally cut (Vince is out Jan 7, 2024). I don't see the playerbase growing with this at all, the announcement is essentially them saying they'll keep the servers running for a bit lol

@@BBGOnYT Making money yes, but making enough money to support a whole dev team? No. FRVR is all in on the Facebook/mobile game now cause that's the money maker. The io game hasn't been sustainable so they had to cut costs to the point where they're basically cutting all future development of the game. So it may stay up from the money it makes on ads, but I wouldn't expect anything big and new with the game.

it really does hurt to see this as a 2018 player. i quit krunker awhile back, but suddenly had the urge to look at the community and saw this. some of my favorite gaming memories are playing krunker with my little bro when we were at home together, and seeing it fall like this hits hard. i had no clue all these changes were even made so thanks for the explanation.

Some of my best memories online are from Krunker, as are some of the worst. It hurts to see what the game has become and how people are just now realizing the extent of FRVR's takeover. While half of me hopes it could magically be revived, its just not going to happen. I've finally said my good-byes and am moving on.

Whippii just came into my stream, he confirmed that all skin makers were fired and every season and skin that was supposed to be published is now cancelled. There will be no more skins added, and frvr will focus on the mobile version.

i know i should probably try out new games, but ive gotten used to the super fast mvement of the game with the slidehopping, and find it hard to transfer to "slower" games, i will continue to play krunker until it eventually dies, i will miss it man

I started playing this game when it was like 2 months old and quit during season 4. It's sad to see everything like this happening, the game won't be the same, especially with the original dev team not doing much it's really disappointing. I've had multiple times I thought about returning but every time I came back, especially after frvr bought it, it seemed to be going downhill, and I was in this stage of maybe coming back, and then I saw all the stuff happening with the dev team, and it was kinda the nail in the coffin. I hope I'm wrong, but I'd be surprised if I am.

Like this isn't a very abrupt ending its just it flat out being said and realized for so many people which is hitting the hardest. Like people stepping away for a second and seeing that no one is making content for the game it only now hitting so many people. There is no situation where Yendis leaves Krunker to FRVR and it stays as successful as it was in 2019-2021. FRVR is just going to cut spending and milk it dry until they can't anymore and then abandon it. I mean they basically already have. Like it is over, no matter what Krunker or FRVR says. Yendis was Krunker, Vince, Syd, Techy, you, zed, kashy, OhToe, Cal, fucking Frosty bro, I could go on. You guys are Krunker. Not FRVR not Facebook not any of this bullshit. And shit makes me sad cause I knew it was coming but I didn't think it was gonna be like this man. I feel I keep rambling about how much this sucks but it's been like this for months, nothing is going to change. Ill never forget all the shit that has happened in game and in the community but we gotta leave it behind.

slide hop literally made the game not grow, 99% of gamers are casual especially when people have school or work when people want to relax or play a game to use their little amount of free time they wouldn't use it on krunker where someone flying at machspeed would be flying around killing you, krunker without slidehop was peak

Saw this stuff and played a lil bit this night after years of forgetting it existed, only a small server that almost always voted death match, and the balance and somewhat oppressive extreme mechanics that can be abused were a lil silly since there were two decent people in the matches. Which is fine by me, I don't care and with this stuff the game would have thrived in a scrim-based community, which iirc it had for some time, but I mean.. yeah It was fun though, I'm still not sure precisely what the hell is up with the hitboxes sniper because my shots hit a mile away and still crit. Hitboxes are crazy AF
