"Arriving at the wrong place" always makes me laugh with how simple and yet how funny it is. Jane and Ryan did a great job making me laugh time and time again when I see it!

You're right about the props. Especially the castanets which he used in the "Auditions" game & the dog whistle in the "Film & Theatre Styles" from the same episode. He would deliberately steer the skit into a different direction to be able to use those props. However, he was amazing at Sound Effects & Helping Hands. The UK version had many such people who appeared in 1 or 2 episodes, like you said Ardal, George Wendt, Graeme Garden, Jan Ravens, Eddie Izzard, etc. At least they gave a chance.

Oh, and Jane actually made really great joke when he didn't "let" Ryan finish his culture joke. That was so dry I laughed out loud :D

Franky, I do think so. Ryan is an awesome stand up improv comedian who starred on Whose Line for many years. In my eyes he never gets boring because he is extremely talented along with co star Colin Mochrie : ) I can't understand how you could get bored of him. He's always funny and without him Whose Line wouldn't be known as a great show that inviduals of all ages enjoy. And yeah, there was no way your comment was going to be rated up because there are millions of Ryan Stiles fans

I agree. I'll go as far as to say that he appeared in too many episodes in the UK version: 76 out of 136. This is 17 more than the second-most prolific performer, Colin with 57 episodes. Followed by Greg at 50 episodes. They should've cut down the appearances of all three of them, especially Ryan. Then, some of the more under-rated performers could've got a chance, like Steve Steen, Caroline Quentin, Sandi Toksvig & Archie Hahn.

They did seem slightly out of sync with each other (Ryan and Jane) during that game, but I think in some situations using a prepared joke is perfectly OK. I mean, as long as it's done sparingly. In the US series, it became a tradition for Colin to open "Weird Newscasters" with a joke news story based around some elaborate pun he had come up with beforehand. :-)

I actually do agree. Don't get me wrong, I like Ryan a lot. But, it is a little annoying seeing him play every game in this episode. I'd like to see some of the others get a chance. Older episodes used to do that, hope it doesn't start turning into the US version too fast.

in this particular episode, sam and jane hadn't been on the show before, and chip was only on.. once i believe. or twice..? one of those. ryan had the most experience with the show at this point.

Holy smoke, this first part was just Ryan Stiles show from the beginning. I could hardly notice Chip was there! Sam was surprisingly good, but the only Sam J. suitable here I found on imdb was born in 1978 which means he would be 15 here? So is imdb wrong?!?

Archie Hahn wasn't invited back because he brought props to help his improv. For instance, buckteeth for a hoedown, taps for a dance number and something else I forgot but it was in the same episode as the taps. The other improvisers were not happy with that. The problem wasn't necessarily that they were in too many episodes, but that when they brought in people that were ok but not great at improv, they looked terrible compared to the heavy weights ie. Ardal O'Hanlon or George Wendt.

They film variations of games during tapings so they obviously filmed games without him. It just means that those games weren't funny enough to be aired in the episode but might be in the compilation episode. There is a reason Ryan was the first person since John Sessions to become a regular of the show. And there's a reason that Sam and Jane didn't get asked back.
