Rock on Charlie Thompson!! Our band, "The Panhandle Troubadours " play several of your song versions of these.old tunes...and this one is my personal favorite! It's got the 50's bebop groove but also welcomes that lonesome country feel along for the ride!! Wonderful recording quality too....it takes you there! I live in the Florida panhandle, USA, and when I first stumbled upon his music, it was an instant favorite! Charlie brings new life to these old songs....his way. Truly, a breath of fresh air musically!!

Charlie is a awesomely talented singer, I once saw him sing impersonating several Simpson's characters and possibly even Sean Connery and Roger Moore!! I could be wrong it was a long time ago and the laughs and drinks have blurred into one and other!!

What am I supposed to do now that we are through Am I supposed to look around and find somebody new Changed my mind go away pretend you never meant a thing to me Am I supposed to be happy say that you'd play fair Am I supposed to say that's life and say I hadn't care Changed my mind walk away pretend you never meant a thing to me Well how can you just sit there and say it was a fling That all them happy times we shared didn't mean a thing How can you start over and forget everything Pretend you never meant a thing to me Am I supposed to be cheerful greet my friends and smile Tell them lies while deep inside I'm crying all the while Changed my mind go away pretend you never meant a thing to me Well now how can you just sit there and say it was a fling That all them happy times we shared didn't mean a thing How can you start over and forget everything Pretend you never meant a thing to me Pretend you never meant a thing to me Pretend you never meant a thing to me

I enjoyed that fine rendition fo "Changed My Mind” that was originally cut by Billy Walker, the Travelling Texan, and issued late 1959 on Columbia 4-41548. That song carry some Ricky Nelson’s overtone (Poor Little Fool) that make clear you can rock gently with a sincere country feeling without being tagged a “Teenage Idol”. The sound is very close to the original cut with here Markku Juvonen (drums) and Carl-Johan Viktor (bass) giving the perfect support. We don’t need always and ever a boom chick-a-boom beat. That 10 inches LP is made for rural folks … Charlie Thompson had made the choice to use his talent to show us his abilities to play a music ... at first called Hillbilly and later Country. You can’t find a more authentic 50’s sound and a more sincere tribute to few great names then in them early days and being recorded in monophonic sound … just like that record was done. For sure, Charlie wanna be back to some rock-a-billy and boppin’ songs in the future but right now that record is definitively a fine slice of Hillbilly music to enjoy.
