I remember when Runicks first came to MD I tried them to control the hand size for Unicore to negate everything (fountain refilling your hand and the ability to use runick quick plays from hand is soooo freaking good) . Was a rough experience but man was it fun 🤣

Unicore is stronger than LADD. Unicore's negate is continuous (i.e. a floodgate) while LADD chains to the effect.

Cause it’s old 👴 I’ve never played these guys in MD, but I used to love using them in the old DS games. The trick with Unicore was putting traps in your deck that could manipulate your hand size so you could keep locking them down.

Because it's difficult to use. It only negates everything if you and your opponent have the exact same number of cards in your respective hands, which doesn't exactly happen by accident that often. So you basically need to build your deck around it (filled with Spells/Traps/Monsters that can discard/draw cards) to get any kind of real consistency out of it. And it's almost worthless if your opponent reads the damn card and realizes they can just set/summon a card to alter their hand count or I'd they rely on passive effects. Plus, it only has 2300 ATK, so it can be beaten over pretty easily. The Yubel player here was basically just a moron who didn't read the effect of an unknown card and paid the price, and he still could have won had it not been for the Called By used on his Phantom of Yubel.

Because its locked in fabled, you need a fabled tuner to make it, and nobody goes out of their way to play one just for a gimmick full negate that works mostly when the opponent is really stupido.
