I randomly used it on my warlock for Trials on Cauldron, just to try it out. It proceeded to melt a Stormcaller super with full health and shields with just one laser..... been using it ever since 👍

I just realized Devil's Ruin has the strangest perks considering it's stats. It has a base recoil that is maxed at 100 yet it comes with combat grip which increases recoil by 20 and extended barrel which increased recoil by 10 at the cost of handling. Since you can't go past 100 the grip is doing literally nothing while the barrel at least gives some range but is still really bad. They probably had better perks then tested the gun and thought it was too good so as a lazy way to tone it down just put the worst possible combination on it.

Ballistic Slam (the middle tree striker melee) takes your momentum into account. If you try to angle your slam in a direction other than the one you're currently moving it will more than likely just take you straight down. If you want to get some horizontal distance, you gotta angle it with your momentum instead of against.

Been maining Devil's Ruin before it was "on the radar". Currently have around 10 000 kills with that little powerhouse. It was one of VERY few exotic weapons that really made me go "Wooooow !" the first time I tested it on the Cosmodrome. Most exotic weapons just don't feel overly unique or powerful to me but this little beast really stole my heart. When primary weapons received the infinite ammo update I was really happy. Now I have no reason not to spam the laser in PVP. Melting shotgun apes will never get boring.

Here's a tip with this weapon. You only need one bullet for a full charge so you can get one kill with normal firing mode and kill someone with the Lazer with only 1 bullet

So IMO I think they're still Meta, but like Sir D said, the shotgun nerf really allows this weapon to shine right now, and it's an absolute blast to use :)

Sir started becoming one with that gun for the second half. Kills were comin easy. He made it look OP. Autos and some SMGs still need a buff. They still can't quite compete with shotty/ hand cannon combos...shotties and hand cannons makes one wonder why we even have rifles in real life.

Yo the melee issue is because if your going too slow you’ll go straight down It no longer works by where your looking. It’s the nerf for it. If your moving too fast you can’t go straight down and if your moving too slow you can’t angle out. This is to “balance” it so that you can’t just cheese people by sitting in a corner or something. I may be wrong, but I tested it, and could not for the life of me go straight down without first slowing myself down, as well as also could not ever travel outward without first gaining some momentum.

Based off what I've noticed with mid tree's melee (I pretty much exclusively use mid tree arc), if you are like aiming above the reticle limit in the melee frames it just brings you straight down it used to really screw me over all the time.

I have a love hate relationship with the gun I love the laser, but hate that the firing in normal mode is fire on release which can totally throw you off. Also, it's great on controller but meh on pc ai assist wise. On controller, the laser beam STICKS to your target. On PC, if someone is moving a lot, you can be lucky if half the charge hits the target.
