Would it be possible for you to turn on closed captioning on this video for students who are hearing impaired? This is an extremely helpful video. Thank you.

Awesome video. I didn't know it was called Lateral Reading, but I am glad this has been my approach after I fell into the online world traps outlined here in the past.

I found the music behind the video to be distracting and hard to follow what the video was trying to teach us

Thank you for the helpful video explaining good strategies for fact checking. Too bad some people are so myopic they get hung up on issue being reviewed.

She explains the right approach at first but gives far too much credit to a method (lateral reading) rather than a state of mind. Have you ever thought that maybe articles can lie to your face. Never take anyone's word for anything, and allow only exceptions, guided by rational thought, to follow this state of mind

Do you find it ironic that this video concerning evaluating content has a pretty strong bias toward raising the minimum wage?

Not particulalry considering that the minimum wage is entirely irrelevant to the topic at hand. It doesn't matter what they think about the minimum wage or if they present the issue in a biased way because that's not what they're here to tell you about. Stay focused.

This video doesn't recognize it's own irony.. does it? Very slick tho. "Don't trust those slick packages, trust the slicker ones." What do you do when the top 12 google hits are curated to all essentially derive from the same source? This video was seeded with things we should "trust"... better to be skeptical of all biases, particularly the prevelant ones. The source of information is *not* as important as the rigor of the contents.. that is a better metric of analysis... still not perfect.. but go for the rigor!
