𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙡𝙤𝙤𝙥 𝙄𝙉𝙁𝙄𝙉𝙄𝙏𝙀𝙇𝙔: snu.socratica.com/python Sorting is a fundamental task in software engineering. In Python, there are a variety of ways to sort lists, tuples, and other objects. Today we talk about the sort() method which is an in-place algorithm for sorting lists. We also cover the sorted() function which can be used on more objects, and creates a sorted copy, leaving the original object unchanged.

@@cpzd83 The reason is because behind the bells and whistles it's good content. It's efficient and to the point. Often when people add bells and whistles to things it's to cover up for the underlying content being poor, but here the content itself is good.

Excellent, as ever! What I should do is take notes as I watch (and re-watch) these very helpful videos. What I would like, is for Socratica to make available the scripts and screen-shots or the examples in some text form. in 3:02, shouldn't the line be: size= lambda planet : planets[1] since the list is defined as planets not planet?
@xTheGamerHeart
@xTheGamerHeart 5 жыл бұрын
Nope size is not the value of planets[1], size is object referencing to anonymous function "lambda planet : planet[1]" the planets is nested list with tuples so when the function .sort loop through the list the anonymous function will take the nested tuple as "planet" then return the second value of it "[1]" you can change it to "size= lambda x: x[1]" and will still work just fine
