I usually appreciate this channel's takes but honestly don't think any of these should be anywhere near as expensive as you're hoping. Rarity doesn't equal value...otherwise assassin's creed, the no commons set would be a gold mine. The analysis in this video comes of as entitled. Once again, not trying to hate, just feel like the message here is "i opened rare,i hit the jackpot of rarity, i deserve money"

I appreciate the take but that isn't the intent at all. I don't care what the card ends up being worth. I am just talking about it based on what I have seen historically with anime foil stuff that is actually rare. I may be wrong and if I am I will make a video about it. The market will do what it does and it will sort itself out and this video will have no bearing on it. So I will check back once the set is out and if we actually see raised foils sub $10, I will make a vid called "I was so wrong." Mark it.

@@JakeandJoelareMagic Hey I appreciate the response. yea the segment on how previous, similar treatments didn't line up to this set just came off as annoyed that you opened potentially low value rares to me. Seemed like a change to form. Glad that's not the case and thanks for always checking back in on sets and card prices as retrospectives. You guys may be the only ones doing that actively 🙏

I'm unsure how you could've taken that impression from this video, and think you may be projecting. Jace the mind sculptor is an iconic card, and the raised foiling is an extremely appealing version for anyone into anime, furries, jace, or just super pretty shiny cardboard. If that card was available at 60 bucks, I'd have bought it right then and there no questions asked. Hell I'd have bought the clement for 8 just because it's pretty. It's extremely reasonable to have seen these extremely low prices on cardkingdom and found it odd considering there's people way more obsessed with this kind of stuff than me, and certainly willing to spend 4x what I ever would for a fox Jace. Also, the AC comparison is not a good comparison. The set had an extremely limited card pool, making its "rarity" nowhere near as diverse as other sets. Every card has a more consistent pull rate, and the set was simply unappealing to most long term fans of the game who would be more willing to spend money on specialized versions of cards. People understand that "rarity doesn't mean high price", but long time players understand the value of iconic characters, special versions of those iconic characters, and can recognize that two reputable sites posting radically different prices for the same cards is very weird. It definitely merited pointing out, and hardly suggests that JnJ were at all complaining about the price of the card being low on cardkingdom. Granted you're entitled to your opinion, but I'm also entitled to mine. Nothing about the video came off as entitled, and if anything, I think that it was a good thing to take about for greener players who might not know the complexities of the card market. I certainly hope JnJ don't give your criticism too much merit.

@@JakeandJoelareMagic This guy is right tho... I dont know how it is in the USA but the confetti foils which have the same pull rate the lower end ones you can get for below 10 euro. And only the top 3 ones are above a 100 euro with the rhystic studies obviously taking the cake. But even a decent pull like bitterblossom confetti foil is "only" a 40 euro card. Again USA might have higher prices and if so any American can hit me up reselling some european cards we can split the profit! hahahahhaa

You do notice that your assassin's creed argument is not accurate right? If you strip all commons from a set of course a rare will be less rare than it normally would be, ergo the value drops. Rarity is not equal to scarcity.

You have to take into account the actual demand of the cards. Shiny rare cards are cool, but only really command value when they see play. Otherwise, you have an ultra-rare version of a 40-cent card.

There’s no reprint equity in the 21 bloomburrow textured foil anime cards. Just like some of the confetti foils and raised foils from previous sets, some are dirty cheap.

Go look at the confetti foils from Eldraine, the undesirable ones are in the 10-20$ range. Look at the textured foils from Outlaws, 20-30$ for those.

Cardkingdom did the same thing last year with Cavern’s to Ixalan with the Neon Ink cards. I pulled a neon red ink Cavern of Souls and they were trying to sell them for around $75 in presale, if i remember correctly. I knew that couldn’t be right. It made it really hard for me to determine the value of the card. I ended up going with TCG’s value.

Dubious prices on out of stock items have always been a significant issue in collectible card games. Whether it is out of convenience (stores that don't bother update prices on out of stock), failure of the ecommerce aggregator they use, or genuine scumminess (looking to pick up stock on certain items at a faction of their value), the net result is the same -- they're not accurately representing the value of the many different versions of cards we have had throughout the years.

Phyrexian mondrak is like 50-60 so it's possible for them to drop to 40-80 range

@jakeandjoelaremagic - I've got a white paper that I've started that will simulate a set entering the market along with simulators for opening boxes. The assumption of the number of cards in the market along with their probability and play/collect x-factor should get close to a "weather" forecast. I want to use card totals, etc. from previous releases and sets yet to be released. What you have touched on in this video is something I've been thinking of since getting back in to TCGs.

My guess these end up as $10-20 for the new cards with reprints or popular ones going for $25-50. I mean, hyped set so most likely heavily opened plus mostly new cards. But the popular ones will most likely tick up once scarcity hits

On european marked clement is approx 35$....I watched a few openings...they all got 1 of the special gilded versions. The three tree city season versions really got me.....i want all those seasons!!😍

15:11 - It's interesting to see that the raised foil anime cards appear more often than the 3 variants listed above it - -Three Tree City borderless foil (1.23%) -1 Traditional foil borderless Mitsuhiro Arita mythic rare (0.31%) -10 Traditional foil borderless Special Guests mythic rares (3.07%) So technically they're not even in the top 3 most difficult pulls out of any given collector pack...

Predicting these will be more in line with the Invisible Ink Showcase foils from MKM as opposed to the Confetti Foils from WOE. Not much reprint value equals low demand which is what is needed to drive the price.

I think it'll go banana similar to those Jurassic Park symbol foil. I think The exiisting card in anime furry and Precon commander in anime version as a foil can hit like a good hundred of dollars when the time go by. Not sure about lesser demand card tho.

There is also how big printrun the Set is, Bloomburrow has been one of the most hyped ones this year. It is low stock on pre-release but wait when all have opened up boxes. 3.66% chance on a big print run and it will be some opened. Cards like Jeweled Lotus and Mana Crypt etc there you have a low chance , love the story of this Set but I would wait if not there are some famous artist behind one of the cards or very much played. My cents awaits 😊

Sometimes it’s worth buying presale cards… you really have to know the meta to know if it’s gonna go up or not…I wish I picked up some of those specialty cards back in the day because they’ll never be reprinted and their hundreds now. 🤷🏻🤷🏻 to each his own Also worth noting IF that card you pulled is only worth $8 I’m buy them out stock knowing they will probably sit around $50 for next few months and then skyrocket up after the supply has dropped and no one has them really.

I'm really hoping the prices of the raised foils drop a lot. For me I get why they did this but its also a feels bad. I feel like if you are spending $200+ on a collector box, you should be guaranteed a raised foil.

In response to your video: Will the Anime raised foil cards be worth a lot? If people want them, and they are hard to get, the price will go up. Do I want them? No I do not. All the other art in the set is better than the anime versions in my humble opinion. So yeah, I would sell one if I pulled it, but I would make sure I got a good price, not the fake Card Kingdom price. Thanks for pointing that out!!

Isn't anyone going to say full shiny odds in the latest generations are 1/4096? 1/450 is like pogo odds or staking things in pla/sv to get that low

is $3.50 for a rare high? What if it's the only rare you want from the set. Is the price going to drop to $0.50 cents? Probably. Could the price jump to $20? Only if everyone else picks up a playset. I'm a fool and picked up a playset of the 2 cards I want in the set at an average price of $3.50 each, and I probably wasted $24, but maybe I saved $132 if everyone agrees that all the other rares except those two are bulk and those two rares I preordererd break Modern more than Nadu. Let's see what happens. A short history of my specs: Arclight Phoenix: bought at $2, sold at $20, Foil History of Benalia: bought at $30, now they are worth next to nothing (still look pretty tho). Dakkon Shadowslayer: bought at $1, still waiting for it to go higher. Finale of Revelation: bought at $1, sold at $5. On Thin Ice: Bought at $1, still worth $1 Am I good at speculating on cards, not very. I try to limit myself to 12 copies of a card if I'm really all in on it and 4 of a card if I just want the card for a Modern deck. Oh, and I just acquired 47 copies of Magmatic Insight for $0.03 cents each. Now the cheapest on tcgplayer is $0.09 cents. Yeah that was me. No, no one figured out how to break this card yet. I was trying it in a combo deck and I cut red, so there you have it, another spec gone wrong. $5 wasted, but hey, if anyone figures out how to use this card... it could hit $4. Maybe an Izzet deck can run 4 copies of Oboro, Palace in the Clouds, bounce the Oboro, and then draw 2 cards late game with Magmatic Insight?? Maybe a turn 2 Tamiyo, Inquisitive Student plus Magmatic Insight to flip right away? It seems like a terrible topdeck, and unless you have an opening hand with way more land than you need, discarding a land on turn 1 seems bad. MDFCs are not considered lands when in your hand, so you can't discard a card like Malakir Rebirth to Magmatic Insight. Perhaps the best use for Magmatic Insight is to discard those extra copies of Phyrexian Tower if you're playing Rakdos, or extra copies of Minamo, School at Water's Edge or Oboro, Palace in the Clouds if your're playing Izzet. Could be good to discard extra Three Tree City or Nykthos. Useless in Commander, so I don't see a price spike unless someone breaks it in Modern.

They’re showing more frequently than the other chase cards in standard sets. $8 sounds right for a bulk rare.

One thing to consider is that most of the "fetch cards" you talk about in other sets (neon cards, textured foils etc) are 1% of packs or lower. These are MUCH more available than those. So by the math, they should be less expensive. One out of three collector boxes is not that hard to pull (comparatively)

Maybe but invisible inks are extremely rare and look at their prices. Those peices on tcgplayer are going to drop and you can look at textured cards and other things and many of those cards are going to drop. Many anime cards from eldraine are cheap. Only the most popular of the rare cards keep any value. You have the rare version of a card not many care about. Not going to be anywhere near 100 even with your wishful thinking.

Bro didn't y'all get in trouble before for trying to do this? This is some let me make people fomo so I can sell my card that I think is worth over $100 for $120. Nah man it's not that great, I always tell people to wait at least a month before buying into some of the special treatment cards. Don't ever fomo and these guys are just trying to make people feel that way. If they were so confident then they would go over to card kingdom themselves and buy them out themselves.
