As a Sgt. At Arms, 80% of my actions are Inter-Club.... Checking my Brothers excessive overdrinking/overdrugging and their resulting rowdy behavior, heated disagreements between Club Brothers or simply keeping order at Church. Watching the citizens behavior at our parties is always an issue also. Ironically, dealing with the P's safety/security issues or disrespect outside the Club is truly a rare occurrence, as other Clubs are alert to police their own as well.

@@codyrinehart5479 It definitely does not take away from the reason I decided to ride. Watching the young members mature and grow wise in the life is inspiring. The joys, burdens and tragedies of this extended family are shared amongst the Club and that kind of support is hard to put a price on. There are times when unnecessary drama becomes tiring, but the good times far outweigh any bad.

How are you doing Ghost ? I'm doing fine, just enjoying my retirement the best I can. Anyway I've got a little story for you involving a SGT. AT ARMS with the HELLS ANGELS, it's not a bad story at all. This happened in either the end of June or the middle of July of 1978. I was 18 years old and I wanted to get my first tattoo and when I got to the tattoo shop there were a lot of beautiful girls and they were all yelling at the tattooist that "I'm first, another said no I'm first" there had to be at least 15 to 20 girls, then finally the tattooist stands up and yells at the girls " EVERYBODY SHUT THE FUCK UP ' then he said to me " What do you want? " I said I want a tattoo" he told me 4 hour wait", I said fine and he told me to write down my name on this sheet of paper. I then went outside then I now noticed about 15 of the worlds most beautiful choppers that I've ever seen so I was walking up and down looking at these beauties then I was leaning on this white car and then there they were the HELLS ANGELS and most were full patch members and some were Prospects so I looked away from these guys but then all of a sudden I felt someone put 1 arm around my waist and picked me up like I was a candy wrapper then sat me on the white car and He must've been 6 foot 5 inches tall and I'm 6 foot 2 inches tall and 210 pounds and he had these very dark shades on and a ponytail with a bandana around his head and a big bushy beard and mustache, he then bends down to where we were almost touching nose to nose, I thought this guy was going to knock my head off of my shoulder but then he smiled and said " I Like You & I said I " I like you too' He was talking to me and said " I Noticed That' You Were Looking At The Bikes and I said "Yeah and they're beautiful bikes" he then asked me if I was thirsty but that's when he told this fuckin' gorgeously, beautiful, sexy biker chick that must've been his old lady he told her " Get 2 frosty cold Heineken beers for me and my new friend' because it was hot out, and she ran behind the tattoo shop and got the beers and she even opened the beers for him and me and then asked me if I ride and I told him that I don't even have a car yet which made him laugh, so said 2 things, 1 he told his old lady to" Get me and my friend here 2 more Heineken,s and then asked if I was ever thinking about getting a motorcycle and I said "Yes, it has crossed my mind" " then he said with a bit of a smile " When you do get 1 why don't you come around and me and my boys can go riding and you can come with us.... O.K" and I said ' Alright ". He said I have to do some business with my boys and when you do come around ask for Big Frank, I'm the Sgt. At Arms for the club around here, then we shook hands and 1 of those little respectful quick hugs. Frank and me ended up drinking a 6 pack of cold Heineken's each but I have to tell you that the prospects didn't seem to like me at all. No I never did get a motorcycle and I never saw Big Frank again and I did go around there but never saw him again and that was 46 years ago and to this day I often wonder what ever happened to Frank and the other full patch members because even they came over and were talking to me too. Sorry for such a long story but I had to add the details 😎

Having a full patch, who also holds a BJJ black belt is a huge addition to any club. Not just because of their ability to fight, but from my experience, those guys are also usually highly intelligent and level headed. Their ears definitely stand out and you can tell the amount of work they've put into something.

I'm a kickboxer, has trained muay thai and now switched to Japanese kickboxing. I could take down 90% of the population. But grapplers, that's where I stop. BJJ and Wrestlers are bad mofos. I can knee, elbow and keep most strikers at bay with my reach advantage bit grapplers are completely different. Mfkers has (imo) another range of pain tolerance.

VPs should be backing their P, learning from them, get on their page so you can support your P, and your club, and do it right. You should be able to give the same answers, make the same decisions your P would if they ain't there or you're not doing it right.

I was one of those who thought Sergeant at Arms was more a an enforcer position as well. We walk in, we're drinking, having a good time, I go up to buy another drink and their sgt at arms pulls me aside, asks what colors I'm wearing because I'm wearing my denim vest with a few patches (punk rock shit, didn't know where we were heading from the first bar, nothing to do with bikes at the time, didn't have anything resembling a rocker on it) so i tell him, he looks me over and tells me to get back to partying. Basically club security & police. They watch & deal with issues between brothers, deliver painful msgs without hesitation or 2nd thought & just be a hammer. They handle regular people too. Ever seen a dude waving non-affiliated riders off to the side of the road for a talk in your town? Could be your local SAA doing his job. We all know that rolling thru some MCs spots without prior notice or permission can ruin your wknd. It requires addressing when it does happen & these dudes handle that shit as well. Think of them as MC security, police & army

Walk tall and carry a big stick silently. When others see a prepared and alert sgt usually the problems are avoided just by the presence. If you are hot headed and a loud mouth hopefully your club wise enough not to appointing you to that position. In my years of being an SA, I have found that most of my interactions with conflict have been dealt with (thankfully) verbally. Verbal judo is a great skill for an SA because of the outcome and the professionalism that comes with it, but however there are times where words aren’t enough, and as an SA I am tasked to handle the situation the way I see fit and sometimes it gets physical. Not backing down and being the one to step up without hesitation and handling things and being there for the protection of the club and the president and maintaining the peace is a huge responsibility and (in my opinion) the most valuable position in the club. It’s not for the faint of heart, it’s a very stressful job and it isn’t easy nor is it always fun, but it’s a very rewarding job. I love the vids brother! Keep ‘em! #GHOSTIN

Thanks for the vid Sose!!! #GhostIn What you talked about was pretty much how I assumed it would be for a Sgt at Arms. I've met a few Sgt at Arms from different clubs but never fully understood what the entire position meant. Had one ask me once if I wanted to know and I honestly told him "While I'm curious I respectfully decline the information in the off chance what you tell me could be deemed personal" I was a 15 year old punk ass girl at the time who had just had an argument with one of their prospects (that's what the man told me who walked up announcing that he was the Sgt at Arms for the club) he asked what was going on since the other man had actually swung on me (he was drunk off his ass) and I round house kicked him (the prospect) in the stomach knocking him backward on the ground about 3 feet away. I explained my side of things and that big beast of a man (he was 6'5 while I was about 5'2) hugged me and told me that he respected me standing up to defend myself but it was best that I walk away. I just smiled up at him and did as he requested. Saw the entire club out quite a few times after that and they would always wave at me and I would wave back but never had any other encounters with them.

Really, you look like a young boy that sits with his family every weekend in some church in the Midwest. Not trying to disrespect you but where I am from (basically where SOSE is from, the look is different). Anyhow like the story, stay safe

Saying you fail at Sergeant at Arms when you let the VP slime ball the President, reminds me of defending the Constitution against ALL invaders, foreign AND domestic. Just sayin.

Honestly a 1% club is stupid, your putting your status on your vest, it's like telling the world im right here come get me, a true gangster Is definitely not that if I did bad shit I wouldnt want the world to know I actually want my freedom that's probably why I've got away with so much because I done things by myself and I'm very skilled at my craft, you can be one strong or 100 weak I've extorted massive gangs by myself I guess there's a difference between a assassin and a horsemen.

Dwayne “Dog” Chapman aka Dog the Bounty Hunter was a sargeant at arms for a 1% club at one time. Don’t know what club
